Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Hi All!

In order to get the discussion boards more active, I thought I'd post a topic for discussion!

What are some low point snacks that you actually ENJOY?
Maybe there are people out there who actually enjoy snacking on celery and hummus (or however it's spelled!). I don't know about you... but if I eat something that I don't really enjoy, I am left unsatisfied and end up eating more anyway.

What are some things that you actually like that are also low in points?

I *love* my own baked potato chips. . . Half a potato is only 2 points (well depending on the size) and by putting them in the microwave and seasoning with whatever I'm in the mood for - well I can't help but always hit something I was craving.

I also really enjoy red peppers and hummus. I have a bag of peppers I cut up weekly and just take a handful with me in my lunch every day. yum!!!

I love:
turkey pepperoni (17 slices for 1 point)
Pringles FF sour cream chips (1 point for 14)
pickles
popcorn
yogurt
string cheese
Hostess 100 cal. cupcakes
grapes
Breyer's icecream 1/2 c. for a 1.5 points

I love pickles! They're 0 Points ... and if you wrap one up in a slice of ham or turkey, it's just 1 Point (and low in carbs, too! I started eating them while I was doing Atkins, except then I usually wrapped up a slice of cheese, too.).

I also like the mini bags of 94 percent fat-free popcorn. Can't wait to try Roni's "make your own" trick.

Hate celery (unless it's stuffed with cream cheese or Peanut butter, and then it's no longer so low in Points!).

Cucumber rounds are OK with hummus, and so are carrots. I also like to microwave "bake" a potato and top it with salsa and LF sour cream — but then we're getting up in the 3-Point range.

I've been using your idea (pickles wrapped in turkey meat) and I really like it! I actually think I am going to by cheeses slices next time because that sounds even better. Thanks!

I love making muffins--dry cake mix and a can of pumpkin--use liners ro cooking spray and bake according to instructions on box. I make 12 and they are 3 pts each. I eat them with some cut up strawberries and/or cool whip. Makes a nice dessert and has fiber so they are filling. I have even had them for breakfast on those days I am craving a doughnut or pastry.

I'm going to remember the "fake" root beer float idea. That sounds great — and just 1 Point!

I love the Fiber One bars - they are only 2 pts each and the new chocolate ones are my favorite. Although I haven't met one yet that I didn't like.

They also have new pastries (poptart-ish). I tried the strawberry, and it was yummy. Each pastry is 3 pts each. However...I ate them 2 at a time and had the whole box polished off in a few days - yikes.

laughing cow cheese w/ Kashi crackers
