Today I've been cooking all my dinners for this next week. I'm hoping it works! I'm almost done--I just need to make Roni's Whole Wheat Pizza Crust so that I can make pizza on Friday and then I'm done. Only 3 hours of cooking for a full week--AND I got my laundry done at the same time! I have to say cooking ahead is going to be a lifesaver!!

I start back to duty today - we have a continental breakfast and annual meeting with an inspirational talk from our county superintendent of schools. Then it's off to the classroom to tidy up a bit and complete my planning. Meetings tomorrow, then more preparation before students show up on Wednesday!
I cooked up some spaghetti squash and placed it in some plasticware so I can take it for lunch, but I have a feeling that teachers will want to go out and have lunch today. If that's the case, I'll just make good choices there and save my squash for tonight's dinner and tomorrow's lunch.
I agree with Brandy - cooking ahead is going to play a MAJOR role in staying on track this school year!
Today was my first day back to school with students. It went wonderfully!! This year we switched to departmentalization, so I teach math for all 2nd grade students. I think I am going to absolutely love it. The kids were so pleasant today. After the rough crew we had last year, it's a nice change.
As far as food goes, I'm loving being back on schedule. It is so much easier for me to stay on track. I eat out of boredom more often than any other time, and I certainly don't have time during the day to get bored. I'm excited to be back on track and in control.
So, I've just spent the last three days working on my room--working 12+ hours each day. It was INTENSE, and I didn't think it could happen (some of you saw what I was starting with!!). THere's a lot more I hope to do, but it is at a great place for the start of school. I am exahsuted though. My feet and legs are sore. Oye. The kids come back tomorrow, and I'm not sure if I will be teaching tomorrow, but I am ready if I do (last year, kids didn't go to specials for the first few days). Sounds like you all are doing good!
As far as dieting has gone, I did pretty bad. I ate high calorie meals, but I didn't snack so it worked itself out. I did lose 2.5 lbs this week!
2 weeks in and I'm still LOVING my kiddos. This group is such a good group. The ONLY thing I could even begin to complain about is that they are a little chatty. My goodness, after what I had to deal with last year, chatty is nothing. They are so sweet and thoughtful, not to mention just flat out funny.
My husband has noticed a huge difference in me when I come home from work. Last year I would come home physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted. I just wanted to veg and not do anything. Now I come home with all kinds of energy, ready to cook/clean/whatever needs to be done. Here's hoping that this last all the way through the year!
