Sarah--I had that same pain with Henry--I was so sore! Talked to my doc about it and she said to worry about persistent pain if it is under your rib cage (upper right side). Your pain seems lower, like mine was. Hang in there. You will have lots of little pains here and there, and some of them will stay for days! Like Emily said, you also want to notice pain that comes and goes, like a contraction.

It could be ligament stretching. You usually get it earlier in the pregnancy as well. However, I have noticed a lot of it lately, especially if I move too quickly the wrong way, and it can hurt for days! It also could be from him dropping and the ligaments are just stretching a new way. As long as it isn't coming and going like a contraction, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Unless it lasts for too much longer, then I would maybe call the doctor. But it sounds like what I have at times.

So yesterday I started having side abdominal soreness, like sore muscles. I still have it, is this normal? I have went to the bathroom so much it could be from that and him dropping and pulling down on my stomach muscles. It's definitely a sore feeling and not a cramp on my sides. Any advice?

Sarah - I agree. I was just talking with my mom last night about that feeling immediately after the baby is out. You get this immediate relief when baby is completely out. I can't even describe it! It's almost exhilerating. As for the inducing...since it is your first, I would wait until at least 39 weeks. I know from experience how much it sucks to wait. My doc wouldn't induce until 39 weeks, I am pretty sure I had an induction scheduled, but I went into labor in the middle of the night on my own. Your cervix should be favorable for induction, if not you could regret trying to early. With my second, I was induced at 39 weeks. I was contracting for weeks, so my cervix was ready. They put cervadil on my cervix to soften it more and I went into labor again on my own, never needed pitocin. Last time, I again was scheduled to be induced, this time on my due date. Went into labor the night before! So I say give your body a chance...wait until at least 39 weeks. Again, I totally know how much it sucks to wait. I was sooo miserable each time! At 37 weeks today, I seriously can't believe that I am almost done! This is the first time I haven't been begging to be induced yet! :) I am sure it's because it is probably our last, but it is strange.
Vent away here if you need to! It is nice to be able to relate to someone going through the same thing. I don't know if you would be interested, but there's another site I go to for huge amounts of support from moms all due the month of August. It's called babyfit.com. They do have ways to track your food, exercise, and weight, but honestly I use it just for the Mommy Teams. There is a team for each month. I found it such a huge help last time, and this time as well. It's always nice to hear that what you are going through is completely normal and that there are at least a dozen other mom's to be experiencing exactly the same thing!

Sarah--I was induced at 37 weeks (high blood pressure issues) and it went well. My water broke naturally, etc. Like your mom said, you will feel immediately physically better--lots of endorphins/adrenaline, etc. too, so you able to enjoy the first few days/nights of sleeplessness. You will be amazed that only a few hours/days ago you gave birth and you are up and walking around like it never happened. At some point you might struggle a little mentally with the newness and responsibility of motherhood, but that will pass.

Thanks Emily for the encouragement. I agree about the heat and humidity I live in northeast Texas so I can relate! I am due Aug 25th I am 36 weeks today so you are a week ahead of me. My doctor is all about inducing if I want her to at 38 weeks but I hear so many negative things. With this being my first should I just let it come natural and he will arrive when he wants to? The heartburn as you mentioned is terrible! I have never had it in my life until recently. I am glad you can relate, it's nice to hear someone having the same issues. My mom tells me I will immediately feel so much better after having him and I can't wait to gain some energy. Not that I had much before getting pregnant but man I am zapped here towards the end I am sure it's going to get worse. Luckily my boss has not scheduled me for much teaching/training from here on out so I can sit and rest my feet and relax at work.

awwwh, hang in there Sarah and Emily.

Sarah--I remember just trying to keep it together at work the final few weeks. It was so hard--felt like the first trimester all over again. Plus, you have the pressure of finishing up things before you leave. I was having high blood pressure at about 35 weeks, so the doc had me go on modified bedrest. I was anxious the whole time, but it was really nice to be able to work from home. Plus I had to be sitting all day in an air-conditioned home, so the swelling stayed down. I did cry almost everyday though. :~) I am so nervous about this pregnancy, and having to chase after a 1.5 year old too. Yikes... deep breathes Christine.

Sarah you are definitely not alone! I actually spent the better part of 3 hours last night crying my eyes out! Everything just added all up and I just broke down. Sometimes it helps to cry it out anyway. The heat and humidity have caused my swelling to really act up the past week or so, and it hurts. I also can't sleep at night due to having to get up to pee, my back aching, the horrible heartburn...I could go on, but you already probably know it! It does get better. Once the baby is born, you will be able to sleep without having to go to the bathroom all night long. Yes, there will be a lot of getting up for the baby, but you won't be uncomfortable anymore. Just hang in there...we're just about done! This is definitely the hardest part of the pregnancy...the last month just drags on!
I had my 36 week appt today, even though I will be 37 weeks tomorrow. I am still dialated only a litte (about 1 to 1.5 cm). The doc doesn't think I will go early at all. I am progressing exactly the same as I usually do. So I know I will have at least 2 if not the full 3 weeks left.

I am full of emotion right now so this is the place to share it! I am nervous, scared, tired and just want to go home rather than be at work. I work 4 days a week but man it's hard pulling 12 hr days right now, that includes driving time. I can't imagine gaining alot of weight and carrying a baby. I have gained a couple of lbs total but I am swelling. My lower back still hurts and constantly have to pee!!! I can't wait to have one night without having to get up to pee constantly! That night will probably be in the hospital and that's it... then it will be about little man! I just feel like crying now, no particular reason just anxious I can't describe it. I am sure everyone goes through this, right?

Seems like both of you are going to have the baby around the same time!
