Ice-cream is so my downfall. I love Chocolate Peanut Butter ice-cream. So, I bought the FF Breyers thats is only 1pt.. well I then started taking a tablespoon of PB to make it my own. BOY! was that a mistake. I would eat about 5 cups of ice-cream doing that. I've taken PB out of my house, but how I crave PB+chocolate ice-cream. Its terrible.

I miss pop tarts too. I was excited to find some low fat ones, but they are still terrible.

Good job finding a substitute. Way to use your points calculator at the store. Sure beats kicking yourself when you get home and then eating whatever you bought due to defeat (or guilt because you spent the $$ on it). I need to get the new electronic one. I keep the cardboard on in my purse at all times.

I must confess, I actually did look for them at the store. But once I crunched the nutrition numbers — and came up with 4 Points for 1 Pop-Tart — I left them on the shelf and bought a box of Special K peaches & berries bars (2 Points each) instead.

Arlene, don't buy them!!!! Remember that there is nothing in them nutritionally (even with whole grain). Like Erin said, try a new substitute. What about a piece of fruit? You can do it. You can make the right choice.

Whole grain Pop-Tarts? Yummy!!! I had a honey nut rice cake today and it was pretty good. Tonight I am so tired that watermelon was on the ticket and dry oatmeal for dinner. I know that sounds kind of odd but it beats fudgesicles that are calling my name in the fridge. Thanks Erin for starting this group. It is a good place to be.

Hey Arlene,
I bet you could come up with a much better substitute for pop tarts, even if they are "made with whole grains". What about a carmel rice cake or two? I love those for sugar cravings and the cheddar for salt. I must say, though that my sugar sravings have gone way down since I have started to eat more fruit.

My roommate and her boyfriend brought Pop-Tarts into the house! It's not like I eat her food, but opening the pantry and seeing them sitting in there is making me think about going to buy some of my own.

Someone here said there are actually Pop-Tarts made with whole grains, and I'm thisclose to trying to finds some!
