I'm so excited to find this group. I have been doing ww for the past year with great results. However those great results were really slowing down, so for the past two weeks, I've been doing low carb. It's going really well, but I could definetely use some support.

Hi there! Newbie to "Blog to Lose" but no stranger to low carb, as my husband tried Atkins for about a year. (He lost weight, but he found it to be too restrictive for him to sustain.) I have type 2 diabetes and my way of eating isn't super low-carb, but I've cobbled together bits of low carb, low-glycemic, ADA exchanges (but not nearly as high carb as they recommend), and a low-carb diabetes diet I found on prevention.com; I don't count calories, but I did figure out a doable food plan with an eye toward keeping in the calorie range for my desired goal weight.

I have had a really hard time with carb creep lately. Any advice? Anything in particular I might look at to get over my stall?

That makes sense. For me, carbs are less about physical reactions (I think), and more about food control. Keep me away from bread and french fries!!!

For every 15 g of carbs, I eat 7 grams of protien. It is the Insulin Resistance diet. If I eat only carbs (or low carbs) I tend to get my blood sugar WAY out of whack. I tried, but almost passed in the middle of June. I added a few more whole grain carbs and it is better.

Amy, what do you mean by linking carbs with protien?

Hi Jenn, sounds like you have much success. I have only been trying lc for a couple weeks. I don't do well at it. I mainly focus on linking carbs with proteins. Congrats on the 30lbs.

Hi Jenn!! I am so glad you are here! I have been doing low carb since 01/06, and have lost 50 pounds, and really been able to control my eating habits. What do you mean by eating to your BMR? 1 pound a week is great loss, especially after losing 30 pounds in 3 months. Congrats!

Hi! I'm here to meet more LC friends!!! I've been on plan since 04.06.08, I've lost about 30 lbs. It's been slow weight loss the last few weeks (about 1 lb per week) so I started eating to my BMR (today is day 3) and so far it's given me a nice whoosh! We'll see if it sticks, last time I had a whoosh I gained it all back the following week even though I ate clean. :) Ahh well, it is an exciting adventure!!!

I understand the off plan thing. In the afternoon I feel like eating sugary/salty foods. I try to get flavored nuts for that... but that uses lots of points, so I plan for it. I am doing much better on my carb/fat/protien ratio and have stayed within points the last few days. I just feel like I could easily be out of control. I am trying to figure out fun ways to work out while not feeling stuck up or suffering heat exhaustion.
