No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

I'd love to hear what everyone's running goals are. Are you training for a race? Trying to run a mile or two without stopping?

I don't have any specific goals right now, but I am considering doing a Half Marathon in October. That's sort of a lofty goal, but I think I have enough time to train slow-and-steady. Plus, it would be in New York City and I could go visit my sis and best friend!

Other than that, I'm just trying to get one long run in a week (at least 5 miles), and workout regularly (at least 5 times/wk).

I'm just trying to get back into it. I got pretty sick a month or so ago and lost alot of strength. Was able to pump out at least a 10k but now barely can squeeze my 5k out :P. I'll get back what I lost and then some :) !!!

Runners Legs...need I say more =)

My goal is to be strong...and faster. I do love my nice easy jogs when I head out to clear my head...but I also love when I crank it up and pull those miles super fast (well super fast to me) but most of all I love that I know I can do it and each time I reach a milestone I know I can go further...so my long term goal is to not quit like I did before....my goal is to stay strong and keep going....

My biggest goal is also my weakest link....consistency!! I seem to get up to the 2 hour run mark...and then nothing! I completely loose interest! I have run 6k, 10k and a half-marathon without training but can't seem to stick it out for the training needed for a marathon....I would love some suggestions as August is approaching and that is usually my "quit running" month!

I don't have a specific running goal in mind yet, I'd like to do it all, a half-marathon, a marathon, etc. but what's the most interesting to me is that I had always thought that there were people who could run and people who could not, I was one of those who could not. I started out slowly (I'm still doing it slowly) but it's amazing how quickly your endurance and stamina increase! I guess at this point I'd like to be able to run a decent length without being too sweaty or red in the face, like to be able to do it comfortable on a lunch break. I'll work towards it, but I think that might be a ways off for me yet.

I am a beginner and i am trying to work my way up to run the 5 mile breast cancer walk/run in Philly in October...I am up to about 2 miles before I give up. I am trying to push myself to do more but I get SO tired-any suggestions?

Just keep doing it. I used to be the same way, and last week ran over 6 miles. And believe me, if I can do it--you definitely can!
Just try to add on a little bit every time you run, and also don't be afraid to walk a little when you get tired and then push yourself to run when you've recovered. I think that has helped me to be able to run further without stopping as time has gone by.

I am trying to get back into running shape so I have been running to work a few times a week which is 4.7 miles. My goal is to be able to run the whole thing at a 10 minute/mile pace again. I ran two weekends ago in a 10 K and did it in 1h 12m so not horrible but I definitely had to do some walking for more than I would've liked. I have entered into a relay marathon with some friends for September 6th so my next goal is to get a better time on that race. Pretty much I want to be back into shape and running at least a 10 minute mile for a minimum of 5 miles.

I ran my first 5k in July in 35m25s. I running 3 more (at least) this fall so I am working on improving my time. My next one is Sept 27 and I'm looking to shave at least 2 minutes off!!!! :Oo

Right now my goal is to run the 5k this Saturday in under 30 minutes. Today I clocked my run @ 31.25mins. The road I run on on my lunch break is very hilly and I can not get under 30. Any ideas of how to speed up. This Saturday will make my 2nd 5K, I ran one last November (30.26). After this one this weekend I would like to try an 8K and then work my way up to a half marathon.

I am running a 5k on 9/27 and this is the first I've run a race in 3 years. I fell in love with running and then hurt my knee and am finally getting back into it. After every run I ice my knees and pray they hold up. My ultimate goal would be a marathon but right now I feel so far from that that it just feels like a pipe dream.
