Are you following points or core?
I'm following points. I'm very sad to say I now have two extra points per day due to a backslide. Time to get moving!

I'm doing Core Plan... I had the worst time on Flex because I was afraid to use my points early in the day. I was scared I'd run out of points by the end of the day and be hungry, so I wouldn't eat much in the morning... and then, LO! I was hungry at night... but instead of eating healthy things in the evening, I'd eat a bunch of WW smart one desserts or 100 calorie packs.

My husband and I switched to Core about 6 weeks ago, and it's really helped... instead of losing .4 or .2 pounds a week, I have losses more like 1.6 or 3

Hi Lynn,
That's interesting that you are losing more weight on the Core Plan. I was thinking of switching to it, but I was afraid I would overeat. My problem with the Flex Plan is trying to figure out how many points are in the dinners that I prepare for me and my DF. This week I grew frustrated and just gave up. Maybe Core would work for me because as long as the meals I prepare are all core foods I could just relax and enjoy dinner?

Core is... harder. You have to plan plan plan! There are virtually no (I'd say absolutely none, but I haven't looked everywhere) pre-packaged meals out there that are core, unless you want to eat soups all the time...

Usually what I do is sit down the day before we go grocery shopping and check the fridge for what ingredients I still have, then I plan out 7 dinners, and 2 lunches for weekends. I pack my husband leftover dinners for his lunches at work (in cute little bento boxes and trust me, that's getting him loads of attention at work!) and I generally eat a salad and soup for lunch. I don't always plan what sides will go with what dinners, or what order I'll eat them in, as I like to have some flexibility.

I also prepare certain foods for long term use, like I always keep about a half-dozen eggs hardboiled, and I'll make vegetarian chili and baked oatmeal bars around for quick "snacks".

You have to do a lot of cooking and a lot of looking for recipes to keep from getting bored, but I'm finding loads of them. If you check out my blog here on BlogtoLose, I'll be posting all my menus and recipes there.

I've heard that it's quite effective to eat core foods and count points for a week or two and see if the foods are workable in your lifestyle.

That's awesome to hear! Wow, the change obviously is helping you to choose proper foods. How are you finding the part about "eat until satisfied". That's tough for me!!!

I've switched between flex and core. When I find myself starting to fixate too much on the points and eating too many 100-pt snacks, refined sugar, etc. I switch over to core. I agree with the other comments, it takes a lot of planning. So right before I switch, I make several core meals and then put them in the freezer, so it's easy when I come home from work. Some of the WW recipes I've made are: meatloaf, Shepards Pie, Spaghetti and Turkey Meatballs.

I'm on the Core plan as well, but I'd say I've bumped it up a bit from just Core. The good thing about Core is that you can eat however much you want of whatever is on the list. I had problems with Flex because certain foods that I ate, despite me counting the points, proved to stall out my weightloss. Refined sugar is one of them, as is high fructose corn syrup. I don't use the 35 extra points so much, unless it's on whole wheat bread, pasta, or tortillas, but I only eat those two or three times a week.

I've lost 23 pounds since starting Core and I love it!

I've been on WW for almost a month now and it's really been working for me. I am sometimes worried about using too many points early in the day, but I just go with the flow...so far I am doing well. I've been able to lose 9 1/2 pounds since starting, and I feel really good.

I've heard that so many times! (eating well in the days sets the evenings up for success!). Congratulations on the loss. That's awesome!
