How do you incorporate your oils into your diet? My friends at work said they just count them from dressings mostly. It say to have "some" healthy oils. I guess there is not a certain amount.
Denice, if you are following the Flex plan you have to count two points for the two teaspoons of healthy (olive, canola, etc.)
that you have each day. If you are following the Core plan, the two teaspoons are included in the basic plan. More than
that and the points have to be counted. I work in my oils by scrambling my egg, drizzling it over veggies, sauteing meats
or veggies, or counting it in dressings for salads - though not that way too often. While I was in "weightloss mode" and six
months after, I followed Flex. However, I switched to Core six weeks ago, and that is the best thing I have done! I wish you success on your journey!
I get one serving by adding a teaspoon of light-tasting olive oil to my oatmeal in the mornings, the other I get in the evening meal.
For the longest time I didn't worry about the oils. I didn't want to "waste" 2 points on oil. Then my weight loss stalled a bit. So I took a good look at the 8 healthy guidelines & decided that the oil was the only thing I wasn't doing. The week after I started it, the weight loss started again. My cholesterol level has improved, too.
It's 2 tsp of healthy oil each day. The leader at my meeting says you can use it in your eggs, or put it in your oatmeal (she says you don't taste it) add it to your smoothie. The leader says if you don't get those oils your hair falls out, you get dry skin and constipated. To me consitpated means no weight loss so I'm going to get my oils in!!
