Profile Information

About Me:
Life is good! I can honestly say that I am happy with where I am in life. About 3 years ago I married a wonderful man, moved to Ohio (from Texas) to be with him, got my dream job as a 2nd grade teacher, and we bought our first house in March. I have an amazing group of friends here and belong to an amazing church family here.

You are all waiting for the "but" right? You know it has to be there! I'm proud to say that before I met my husband I started WW and lost about 65 pounds. The highest I ever remember weighing was 209 and about one year later I reached lifetime weighing in at 145 pounds. (This was the summer of 2006) I maintained that weight for over a year, only gaining once I got married and moved. During my first year of marriage I gained 40 pounds! I am not proud of the fact that I let myself gain that much back. I'm on a journey to get back to where I felt best--145 pounds--and this time I want to stay there!

Motivation

I found just the motivation I need to get back on track. Out of Africa

I got back from an amazing 3 weeks in Africa earlier this week. I am trying to get settled back into reality here. It is always a difficult transition when I get back. It's hard to explain. When I am there I miss my friends and family tremendously, but I know that I will get to see them again soon. But when I leave there, I leave not knowing if I will ever see those people again. The goodbyes seem so final.



Before I left I was worried about what they would say about my weight.

Zero Calorie Cupcakes

On the Mend

Well, I definitely have a UTI like I was guessing. I took AZO and drank tons of water on Saturday and Sunday. This allowed me to hold out until today to get to my regular doctor. She confirmed my suspisions and put me on an antibiotic. I'm looking forward to putting this behind me and getting on when things (without having to stop for a restroom break every 5 minutes!) Thanks for all the tips/suggestions.

I must admit I am envious of your life. It sounds wonderful. How did you get started in missionary work? Is there a need for people who may not have such a great skill as teaching? I am only an office clerk and wouldn't think I would be of much use for someone of my skill level. Please continue in this as there is such a demand.

Hello,
So I wanted to learn a little bit more about you! How do you stay motivated to continue ur jouney? How far away from your goal ru? I feel like I have this mountain to climb and im no where near the top; which makes me not wanna start climbing at all. I just think you know it isn't that bad down here. I am 60 lbs away from my goal and I have never lost more than probably 30 lbs. I have never stuck to a program for more than a month. I just have never done it and I think the thought that I will fail is what makes me not wanna even start....any advice....

I miss you and am worried about you. Come back and blog with us. I don't care whether you fell off the bandwagon-- get back on with us. You are sooooo close and you can totally do it. You've come super far! Think about how far you've come! So much better to just get back up and shed any weight you may have gained than to have go back to where you were.

Hope this isn't too much unsolicited advice. I miss you and want you to achieve your goals!

I wanted to check in with you. How are you doing? Something that helps me when I'm really stressed is to take 3 deep breaths (in the nose, out the mouth). I know you're going through a really tough time so try that when you want to eat. Tea helps too. Thinking about you.

It's pretty good. I'm using all my activity points this week but hopefully I hit 162 by the end of this month (with the ultimate goal of around 152 by early July)
