Way to go!! This post reminded me of the biggest loser--how they walk that mile (or this year it was bike riding) at the beginning and feel like they are going to die and then at the end they run a marathon, ending with that same last mile. What a g…

I could totally relate to this post. I look back at pictures from my sister's wedding and just feel embarrassed. Sadly, at the time I had not just had a baby--nor did I realize just HOW big I really was! I love the comment about finding your hip bo…

Way to go!!! I had the same experience a few weeks ago when I took off some time from working out. It was a pleasant surprise, but it has made it really hard for me to get back in my routine! I liked thinking that my body didn't really like exercise…

Wow--40 pounds. That's amazing! That is like a small child. You must be feeling such a difference in your joints, legs, etc. Keep up the great work!

I say go to level 2! I Sure it will be hard (but so was level 1 the first time--and probably the nine after that-- . It will be a nice change of pace. You'll build up the stamina for it. Level 2 kicked my butt, but now that I have done both of them,…

Your post made me smile. Isn't that cool, that you're sad that you can't get outside? So neat! I think that our bodies must crave the stuff that exercise brings up...they say exercise is one of the best things to counteract depression.

Sorry you weren't able to enjoy the nice weather yesterday. It was beautiful, and I was so excited to go out in it, even though I didn't. I find it hard to really get a good workout outside, so I went to the gym. I think it is really easy to get spr…

From reading the blogs this morning (and from my own experience) it is just one of those whiney days! Here's the funny part... I have been seeing your numbers fall over the past few weeks and thought "wow. She really has her stuff together" When I f…

Profile Information

About Me:
Life is good! I can honestly say that I am happy with where I am in life. About 2 years ago I married a wonderful man, moved to Ohio (from Texas) to be with him, got my dream job as a 2nd grade math teacher, and we bought our first house in March. I have an amazing group of friends here and belong to an amazing church family here.

You are all waiting for the "but" right? You know it has to be there! I'm proud to say that before I met my husband I started WW and lost about 65 pounds. The highest I ever remember weighing was 209 and about one year later I reached lifetime weighing in at 145 pounds. (This was the summer of 2006) I maintained that weight for over a year, only gaining once I got married and moved. During my first year of marriage I gained 40 pounds! I am not proud of the fact that I let myself gain that much back. I'm on a journey to get back to where I felt best--145 pounds--and this time I want to stay there!

Weird

I found myself gazing out the window this afternoon actually feeling SAD that I couldn't get outside and exercise for a bit. I just had this urge to go and run. (I'm not a runner...I can't run more than 1 minute without stopping at this point). I'm not one that normally has an urge to exercise. I suppose it was the sun FINALLY shining here in Ohio. Unfortunately I had a meeting after work and then straight to bible study. Tomorrow I will actually have time after work--but we are expecting rain--… Continue

Back on My Home Turf

I had a great weekend with my in-laws. It is so nice to just get away and have no responsibility. Thanks for all of those who reminded me how lucky I am to have such great in-laws. My husband and I are both really blessed because we enjoy spending time with each other's family.

My MIL did really good this time around. She didn't make my favorite pepperoni rolls or oatmeal cookies so there was no temptation there. She made mention of calories several times, so I know she was try

At the In-Laws

That title would normally make people think of all the negative stereotypes of in-laws--none of which are true in my case. I actually get along really well with my in-laws. They are super nice, fun to be around, and just so happen to think that I'm the greatest thing that happened to their son (Haha). They live out in the country and everything is a slower pace. I love to go and just relax. We typically don't do much while we are here. Which is a NICE change of pace for me. No feeling guilty

Journaling & Pictures

I've talked a lot about my new journal, so I figured it was time for a little update. I've been using it for 3 days now and I really like it. There have been several times that I have wanted to eat something (out of boredom or just beause it sounded good), but I didn't want to have to look up the nutritional information, so I passed. It is also interesting to see calories versus just points. Unfortunately, I've only used

NSV and a Scale Victory

First the NSV...one of my students brought in cupcakes for her birthday today. I'm a sucker for store bought (nasty) cupcakes. They really aren't that good, but for some reason they call my name! I scraped most of the icing off, broke off one bite, threw the rest of it away and then enjoyed my one bite. Good thing I threw the rest of it away before I ate it because that one bite was so delicious--I would have eaten the rest (if it weren't buried at the bottom of the trash) Additionally, I log

Thanks for checking up on me. I feel like I'm just either struggling to stay on the horse or just jumping off it. Not awesome. OK, today is a new day. Focusing on getting in protein and staying away from sugar, which is evil. Thanks!!!

Christy everyone was sitting in the room when I whipped out my phone. I know they thought I was a freak but I said I gotta snap a shot of this temptation. He He He! Hope all is going good with you.

Thank you for your support. The last few weeks have been really hard for me and my sugar addiction and snacking addiction have been up in arms. Your support and accountability really mean a lot to me.

You mentioned making a veggie omelette-- is there an easy way to get a bunch of veggies in? What veggies are best that you've found?

Thank you for all your support this weekend-- I really needed it and appreciate it. Let's work together to achieve our goals for this month!

Wow that is so ironic - I work for Title I in my district - that is how I am funded. We have 14 Title I elementary schools - they range from 45% free and reduced to 90% free and reduced. I admire the work you do and understand your daily challenges. Thank you for making a difference.

Christy, I will keep you in my thoughts. As a classroom teacher you make the biggest difference in the life of a child. I hope that all will be good with you and you will continue to do the great work you do to make a positive impact on children. It is scary that policy makers don't realize how hard they are making it for children.

I wanted to check in how you're doing and how your weigh ins are since we have really similar stats and goals! I'm now at 164. Would love to break 150 by July 1st but obviously it's more important to me to create a way to eat sanely than drop weight quickly. What's your next goal?

I think that you will really enjoy the journal. At first, I found it a little overwhelming because of all of the calculations. It definitely works well for those following Weight Watchers, but all of the calculations are actually kind of interesting once you get going. Before purchasing it, I had never calculated my Basal Metabolic Rate. Good luck!

It is frustrating. I think I'd be decent at maint. since I've been maintaining a weight of around 150-160s (down from high of 190s) for a few years but getting down to goal is hard. Once I'm in a rhythm it's not terrible but it's hard to get into the rhythm. Talking about it helps though.
Do you have photos from when you were at 145?

Would love to work w/ you to stay motivated. I saw you were at 145 once and now you're v close to me in weight. I haven't been 145 since high school but I was at 153 last year so I know it's doable. Look forward to hearing about your progress!!!
