Profile Information

About Me:
I am 37 year old mom of a wonderful 6 year old son! I am 5'3" and am the definition of a yo-yo dieter. I am currently in the 160s. I just realized at 35 that I can not be on a diet. I have to try to have some type of control over my eating, make healthy choices and exercise for the rest of my life. I have done almost every weight loss plan known to man: nutri-system, the grapefruit diet, low carb, hypnotherapy, weight watchers, etc. Weight Watchers is my go to plan of choice but I sure wish I had all of that money back!!! I do like to exercise. I love boot camp and interval training. I have completed 16 half marathons and 1 full marathon. I do not love running but I do love the feeling of finishing and having an amazing meal. My greatest goal is to stop this game of losing 10-20 pounds and gaining 10-20 pounds every few months. I want to learn to maintain. I so look forward to sharing ideas and getting inspiration. Weight loss can be such a lonely journey and I look forward to making connections, offering support and learning to be the best I can be.

Bandwagon and a pound

So I am on the smoothie bandwagon now thanks to Tonyne. I struggle terribly in the winter with my fruit and veggie intake. I like salad veggies but not all the other wonderful varieties. I think if someone made them for me then I would be more interested. Anyway, back in August and September I was doing smoothies a couple of times a week and it really helped with my veggie/fruit intake. So this morning I got up and got that blender goi… Continue

FInally...it happened for me.

January 11, 2010 was my last OP day. 22 days ago...How ironic I am allotted 22 points per day. So, it is 9:15pm and I have used 21 points and a total of 1135 calories. I am done - finished for the day! Woo Hoo! I wrote every single thing down. It was a successful day with a 30 min workout this morning and a quick 20 minute lunchtime run.

I really need this to be a regular occurrence.

I like to move it

Just got back from a quick 20 minute run at the gym. I am a little worried because I can't find my Nike+ plug in for some reason. I will have to go through a couple of bags tonight...ugghhhh! Anyway, 20:20 - 2 miles - 251 calories.

This morning I completed Level 3 30DS - I was not able to keep up with everything. I need to do a few more days of Level 2 for sure. But it is nice to mix it up a bit. I also competed Day 2 Week 1 of my challenge:
Push-ups 10, 12, 8, 8, 12 (all girl style today)
Sit-… Continue

Meals for the week! Recipes to follow, if they are good...Broccoli, Tofu and Ginger stir fry, Crispy Italian Chicken, Yogurt & Herb Pork, Turkey Taco Salad, Shrimp with red potatoes. Today I've made Tuna Tostadas (last minute lunch that tasted amazing!) and I have white bean burgers "setting up" in the fridge for tonight's dinner. I made it through the movie last night with my 100 calorie bag of popcorn and 1 fun sized snickers! So far, at 5:32pm on Saturday and I sticking with my on-point weekend! :)

I don't have a Whole Foods either! I have Food Lion or Lowes Foods and if I feel like driving a bit, Kroger! They all have "ok" organic sections, but not great.

I eat my Buffalo Chicken Dip with celery sticks!! I love it that way! Feels like I'm getting the full wings experince! :) Quinoa is similar to couscous, but a little heartier I guess. It's very good, all you have to do is cook it in chicken stock, add a small dab of light butter salt and pepper and that was enough for me! I love it. It's super expensive at my grocery store though. :(

Have I told you lately I'm jealous of your trader joes? I am totally sticking my tongue out at you right now. :p

Heather I thank you again. It helps to have someone have some shred of confidence in me, when I have absolutely none right now.
I hope you are doing well.

Thanks for the encouragement Heather! (But, I've gone into situations confident in the past...and then been destroyed by own lack of self-control. This week I am laying out my challenges, and then reporting on my successes or failures. Tomorrow I am hosting a cocktail party at my house for 15 or 20 people.)

I may be a squat machine, but you beat me hands down with the sit-ups and push-ups :)
My stats:
Squats - 125 (and my right front thigh certainly knows I did this many)
Sit-ups - 40 (crunch style)
Push-ups - 25 (girlie style - no way I can do normal push-ups yet)

I've printed off the sheets - will be starting week 3 for the squats - week 1 for the others.

Hey Heather! It is hard to get in the swing of things, but hey, I need my squat, sit-up, push-up buddy! :) You can do it!

So I took the squat test tonight - I did 125... how about you? Is 125 even possible? Maybe I was doing them wrong? Next will be the sit-up and push-up test. That should be good for a chuckle or two.
