6 Weeks and 10%!

I've been home from the hospital for 6 weeks now and I'm down 21 lbs, 35 if you count the weight I lost from actually having the baby. I'm officially back in the 170s (again *sigh*) and have lost 10% of my post-baby weight.



The funny thing is, exactly a year (give a day), I had just made 10%.

Hi Jen,

During the first trimester I had a hard time eating--especially in the morning. Now that I'm almost into my third, my appetite is definitely back. I'm really shocked that I haven't gained more than I have. My last appt the nurse told me I was at 13 pounds gained. I think my metabolism has changed, plus I have been trying to stay active. Some days it's hard, but I think it'll help a lot with the delivery. I'm getting so anxious about meeting him, and just want everything to be perfect. Definitely in the nesting mode! :)

Hey Jen! I just read your comment about stress and that maybe being a reason for your plateau. Over the weekend I read Health at Every Size and the author talked about that very thing. She said it is not as simple as calories in and calories out, cause stress hormones can disrupt that. Very interesting...

oh man, I feel for you with the hubby and the work friend. Awhile back Jim had a female friend that was really inappropriate with him, and luckily we moved away. The interesting thing was that is got to a point where JIM was uncomfortable, and he ended the friendship! That was nice to see... I had to back off though, and wait for it to get uncomfortable for him. THAT WAS HARD! Cause he is pretty clueless and I could see where it was going! I just had to trust him, and believe he valued me and our marriage, more than that friendship (plus I needed to take the focus off of me cause we were making it about me and how I was insecure and making it more than it was, etc)... and worse case scenario, he wanted to leave me over her? Then it was his loss! I would be better off in the end knowing that... hope this helps! I feel for you!!

I just read your blog, the aspartame 'chemical of the week' post. Thanks SO much for the info! I know aspartame is bad, but I have just been failing at cutting diet pop and pudding out of my diet...your post has ended the struggle for me:) I can't believe the corruption that got the stupid chemical approved for consumption in the first place, crazy! I know. I dropped the 25 really quickly, but quickly put 10 lbs of it back on... I am trying to be kind and patient with myself and my body, but it is hard. I wish I had the time and energy I used to have to put health and fitness higher up on my To Do list!! I think you will be fine though. You were fit before getting pregnant and you are nursing!
