I love oatmeal. I add blueberries sometimes, dried cranberries sometimes. It is quick, yummy and good for you. I try to eat it at least 3 mornings a week. I have never thought about how long I stayed full but I will start paying attention.

Good job on the loss. Don't think of it as blowing it. Think of it as just a little obstacle in the road. Maybe the choice you made was not the best but enjoy Spring Break and go on from there. It always does help to vent a little, doesn't it?

Pity Party Finally Over

Oh my goodness, have I been having a pity party and what a party!!! I have eaten until I just couldn't eat anymore and I have been cranky, snotty, nasty, and pretty much all around hard to live with. When I was going to sleep last night I was rethinking what I have been like and what I wanted for myself. Just for me. I WANT to be healthy and fit. Wait, I NEED to be healthy and fit. So this morning I woke up with a great attitude and have had a great day since. The kids got up and dressed. I made… Continue

Traveling Journal is Working

I started the first week of a traveling journal for my weight watchers meeting and I can't believe that I am worried about what others will see and think of what I eat. So in this case, it is working well for me. Yesterday was just the first day but I feel in control. Of course it is minute by minute for me but so far, so good. I stayed within my points and I wore my ww pedometer and earned 2 aps. So that was a terrific day!!!

The Traveling Journal

Last night at my ww meeting, my leader suggested that we do a traveling journal. This is to show how other people track their food, etc. No one seemed to want to start it so I go and raised my hand. After she gave me the journal, I actually felt kind of uncomfortable (rather really uncomfortable). This is one area that I just do not have a handle on and so I thought that this might help. There are many people that are going to be looking at it and so this way I have to do this. Should be… Continue

I made it through the day!!!!!

It is amazing of one day on plan can make a person feel likw. I finally did it! On plan for one whole day. I know that doesn't seem like a lot but I am one of the ones who say well I will start tomorrow but I didn't do that this time. I am so excited. My kids and I went out for dinner with my parents and where we went has the best fried chicken. It is so yummy and has been in business for years and years. I was really tempted but chose to have a grilled chicken salad. I kept reminding myself tha… Continue

I faced the music, finally

I finally went to a meeting and was "there". I started WW in 2006 and went to a meeting every week. I got to my 10% and never went below it. I did stay with the program (not doing it but kidding myself that I was) and finally after about 2 years I stopped paying for it. I have since gone back here and there. I get motivated and then lose it very quickly. But I decided that I have to do this. My "fat" pants are way tight and my other clothes don't really fit either and I am not buying anything el… Continue

Hi again Kerina - that newspaper...are you shredding it before placing around the plants? Yeah..I'm a novice gardener but I love it...my tomatoes last year were terrific well into fall. And how do you know when they are ripe enough to harvest?

You should take a look at my blog...lots of pics of my garden from 2008! How much space do the plants need then?...it's a big garden but still feels like limited space once it gets moving!

Hi there...saw your comment about spaghetti squash and wanted to ask if you have any tips for growing it. I tried two summers ago but they didn't get very big and were not great at all. I'm up for trying againif you could maybe give me some pointers. I have a 10X25 foot raised bed garden. I do the usual tomatoes and peppers, herbs...cabbage...HELP!!

Thanks for the note. I am alive. A bit above goal now, but you know how it is in these cold climates. If I don't have enough body fat, surely I will freeze to death. I need to exercise, but haven't convinced myself of such. Time will tell.

Hey Kerina! I thought the Skinny Bitch book was... interesting? I'm already vegan, but I did think that they did an awesome job of explaining all that. They're bitchy tone (which was the point of the book) got to be a little much. And I think it's wishful thinking to believe that a piece of fruit for breakfast, a salad for lunch and dinner will fill me up. I wish! Anyway, I thought it was ok. Not the best book I've read, but I was surprised that I liked it a little!
