Sounds very similar to my first birth story in some ways, as far as the progression- but I wasn't induced, it just took 20 hours on its own, but my water broke before I got there. I hate the oxygen mask!! In the end though- you got your little bo...

Cindy, I'm sorry it was so scary- I had something very similar happen with my daughter and had to do the "Non Stress Tests" several times- I think it happens a lot at the end b/c they are really running out of room in there! Definitely take it ea...

Profile Information

About Me:
***I'm leaving all of my original goals so that I don't forget them when it is time to re-focus. But for now, I am pregnant with my 2nd child, due in November. I'm trying to focus on eating as healthy as I can and managing my weight gain during this pregnancy to a healthy range. ***

I'm a 30-something mother of 1 who manages a marketing department at a publishing company. I am generally satisfied with my life, except my weight- and I hope to change that with this journey. After many starts and stops, this is where I make the choice to move forward and never look back.
I selected that I'm new to exercise below- but really, I used to be very fit and active- when (not if) I get back to that, I'm a total workout-a-holic. Love it. I yearn to have that energy and resolve- I'll get there.

Why I'm here to stay this time:
- I don't want to be fat anymore. PERIOD.
- I want to be able to wear clothes without struggle of finding the one thing that doesn't look like a tent and makes me feel super sexy.
- I want to have energy to run around with my toddler and make her chase me for once.
- My husband loves and supports me; but it is unfair of ME to expect him to tiptoe around my feelings about my weight when I have the control to change my situation.
- I want to run again.
- I want to swim for fitness again and not be afraid to be in a suit.
- I want to stop secretly comparing myself to other fat people wondering if I look as obese as they do, or if I am secretly fooling myself and actually look worse.
- I have to break out of my comfort zone to do this. Which means
- I have to workout when I don't want to- even if that's 7 or 8pm
- I might have to miss a fav tv show to do so (oh the horror!); or better, put in a tv in the room with the treadmill.
- I have to make the sensible choices when eating- in or out. And learn that I can't make excuses every time I
want the cheeseburger or gooey dessert.
- I am shedding the mental weight it takes to be obese. And with that, I will shed the physical weight to prevent both from coming back.
- Because of that last point- I realized that it actually takes a lot of work to stay fat. Really. So if I put that effort into keeping myself in an unhappy body- I will put that effort into making it a happy, fit body.
- I have to stop being afraid to be thin.

What I get along the way:
down 10# = reward of new running shoes
down 10% = get an iPod (I still don't have one)
down 35# = get a Nike + kit

Stretch Goal: to Onederland by July 1, 2009
Get a day at the spa

down 75# = new workout equipment (weights, ball, etc)????
down 100# =new Canon SLR camera I've been wanting
hit goal weight = CRUISE!! to somewhere warm where I get to be in a bathing suit and not hide.
Plan of Choice:
Weight Watchers
Workout Philosophy:
I'm new to exercise

I can't BTL- but I can blog to keep on track.

I am 16 weeks pregnant now, get to find out the gender in just 4 more weeks! Aside from the few weeks of morning sickness, this pregnancy is going very well so far. At 16 weeks, I've officially (according to the Doc office) gained 12 lbs; but yesterday's appt as the day after I came back from a 5 day vacation and 8 hours of driving- so I'm pretty sure it's more like only 10 lbs total. No worries either way, I'm keeping a watch on it and trying to gain the necessary, but not extra, weight. Having… Continue

It's been a long time. . .

I've been semi-actively posting on the Healthy Pregnancy group page- but not so good about keeping up my personal blog. This first trimester has knocked me on my butt between low progesterone, morning sickness and general fatigue...plus stress...well, yikes...I'm lucky I've done ok on weight gain so far. Total at 11 weeks- i've gained about 4 lbs. It fluctuates a little with water weight- so somedays more, some less- but the most consistent I see is about 4 lbs. While I'm not dieting at all this… Continue

I can't eat it all!

Now that I'm pg and not counting points like I was- I am using Babyfit.com to log my food and keep track of my vitamin/mineral/dietary goals daily. I would like to think it is very accurate- it's a product of Spark People, which I know a lot of people love- and most of the food I enter is directly off of the packaging or generalities for fresh food. I'm striving for 1800 to 2000 cals a day.
I am going to have to start throwing in some more calorie dense foods I guess because I can't eat more vol… Continue

Just an update.

Since finding out I am pregnant last week, I've really had to come to terms with the fact that I have to put my weight loss on hold- but I have such a better outlook, and MUCH better control, than I did during my first pregnancy. I have to say, it also really helps that I gave up chocolate for Lent- I don't have that as an added temptation.

I was eating 29 points a day when not pg and following WW- I'm adjusted for myself to consume between 35 and 39 points a day (or roughly 1800-2000 calories)… Continue

Well, isn't this a surprise?

It's been a bit since I've posted- I've been really busy and have had a lot going on.

I haven't been on the treadmill since Saturday- I was just exhausted and didn't know why. I got home from visiting my mom on Monday evening around 6. Started making dinner and was just off in my own head thinking...*HOLY CRAP* I even startled myself....at that moment, I realized that I was at least a few days late on my TOM.If you look at my other most recent posts- I think I mention it each time. I left my di… Continue

LUV the ticker! thanks for putting it up, those ones are so much fun! I spent a lot of time during my pregnancies over on ivillage in the due month groups. It was a lot of fun interacting with other moms with the same due month as me.

I had that same constant naseous feeling... at one point it became so familiar that I would forget I was naseous! I did read that it is a good sign though--a sign of a healthy pregnancy! Some of it was nerves though--it subsided a little after the first sonogram and I saw that everything was okay for now!

hang in there.
