Breast Cancer Survivor October 2007!!!!!

Official WW loss: 9.2
--------------------------------------------------------------
Hi! My name is Robyn and I am 43 years old. I am married (almost 19 years) and have two beautiful kids! A 16 year old daughter and a 14 year old son!
I've battled my weight all of my life and have made a decision that THIS is the year that all changes. Mostly because I want to be HEALTHY! In August of 2007 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and underwent a unilateral mastectomy of my left breast. I also had reconstruction surgery at the same time. I am happy to report that I am hereby cancer-free!
I had a TRAM free-flap procedure where my Doctor created my new breast out of my tummy tissue! Believe me, he had plenty of that work with! The added benefit of a tummy tuck was nice...but now its time to get the REST of my body into shape.
I haven't decided yet...but I may join Weight Watchers...even though I know how the plan works and could probably do it on my own. I think the added benefit of a support group is a key factor!
(UPDATE: Joined WW on Feb. 15th, 2008.)
I've never been a "small" girl! In fact, I think I when I was younger I went from 99 to 160 lbs. overnight? lol I don't remember ever weighing less than 160 even when I was in high school!
As far as diets go.....you name it, I've done it. I've been a Weight Watcher member at least 4 times. I've tried Atkins, Nutrisystem, Slimfast...etc. I also did Phen Phen back in the early 90's for about 3-4 months. I lost 34 lbs (down to 157) and was completely happy at that weight. I also maintained it for almost 3 years. Then when I switched to a desk job...the weight slowly crept back on. Now..after years and years of yo-yo dieting I've reached my all-time high! A couple weeks ago I was at 203.5....but this morning I weighed in at 198.
This picture below was taken in April of 2005...when I was probably at my lowest in many years! (173 lbs.) At the time I thought I was WAY fat...but looking back now, I really wasn't that bad! Look how much thinner my cheeks are! Sheesh!
