About Me:
I have been a member of Blog to Lose since October 2008 and a follower of Roni's Weigh since July 2008. I started my weight loss 'journey' the summer of 2008. This year has brought great change: weight loss & healthy choices, as well as I just got married (July 11, 2009). My aim is to maintain the healthy changes I have made and continue on to my goal of a healthy weight of 155. I have been following Weight Watchers since July 08. Now as a lifetime member I continue to go weekly to keep me on track while I still aim to lose. I am registered to run a half marathon in early September (ran it - loved it - signed up for another April 2010). I was never a runner until January 09 when I purchased a Nike+. It has changed the way I exercise, in turn, helping reshape my body and helps to make myself see that I am a strong and powerful person. !

A newbie, but no so new

Blog to Lose here I come!

My body image has been distorted for many years. I have never been satisfied with the way I looked. Now, as I look back at pictures of me when I was in high school, it seems crazy to think that I felt so big.

However, this last July(08), I had a reason for feeling not so good. When I stepped on that Weight Watchers scale ,the numbers 225.6 were looking back at me. I felt sick. Especially knowing that 20 pounds of that I had gained in the last year.

I still have a ways to go - but now I feel like I can achieve it, I will achieve it!

For all of you out there working hard - give yourself a pat on the back.

Merry Migraine

I am sure that is what my migraine is thinking. I on the other hand....not so much. My was suppose to be productive....it has ended up being a bust. Laying in bed most of the day. I am starting to feel better now though....hence I am blogging. I have frisbee tonight....exciting. FantaStic!

I love pumpkin pie or anything flavoured with a cinnamon and nutmeg combination. Starbucks and I are on the outs because their Pumpkin Scone is not flattering for my butt...yes...we have decided not to see each other anymore.

SO my new fix - vanilla pudding (the 60 calorie cups) with pumpkin spice mixed in....fantastic! Love it!

I was also thinking....the chocolate cups would be great with a couple of pretzels crushed up....you'd have to eat it right away because no one like soggy pretzels....… Continue

I am good at...

eating.

I am. I am good at snacking, eating, scarfing....you name it. However, as I sit here watching the Biggest Loser, I want to eat. But I asked myself why? I am watching a show about losing weight....and I want to eat. I thought about how I would feel if I ate the pudding (no sugar, low calorie). I think I would still want to eat. I am not hungry. I am just good at eating. I am not going to eat right now. I don't NEED to eat.

Just a hop, skip and a jump....right?

Today has been a good day. Lazy day....but good. Ate healthy, went for a run and just hung around the house. It was definitely a snow day. The roads are undriveable - my honey walked to the store to get bread. Probably just as well since it is so close.

I went for a 5km run before supper. I was definitely procrastinating this exercise. Glad I did it, happy it is done.

Susan, thanks for the comment! Henry is growing so fast?! Seems like he changes mentally and physically on a daily basis! I am starting to really like this motherhood thing (spent the first few months freaked out and kind of scared of the responsibility!).

I'm doing Hal Higdon's training plans but also what feels right, meaning if I feel tired or pain I definately slow down the mileage. Good luck on your half marathon, I felt AMAZING when I completed my first half and the sense of accomplishment you feel will make you want to strive for more!

Roni has the recipe for chocolate popcorn (check out greenlitebites.com) and you can find baked potato bags on Etsy.com (look up microwave baked potato bags) for as low as $6. Hope this helps! Let me know if you get one. It's soooo easy to make baked potatoes now!

I can't tell you how much your comment touched me. I wasn't sure yet what I was going to write yet (or read) as I approached my computer finally, but this was a very nice way to start to think better about myself. And I think for all of us that is necessary. Thank you for taking the time to write that.
Just so you know, you were someone I watched for inspiration too. You were ahead of me and roughly the same size (I believe you have about an inch on me in height) and I needed to find people who I thought I could follow in the footsteps of. So thank you!
And by the way, your wedding photos are lovely! You were a beautiful bride!

Hey! We sure did used to run some crazy amounts!! I want to get back to that!! I am going to Thailand tomorrow for two weeks so I'm taking my Nike+ with me and am going to try my hardest to get in at least a couple runs - I probably won't be able to upload them due to the fact that I won't have my computer with me - but I'll load them when I get back. And then once I return I am going to run, run, run to catch up haha. Have a good couple of weeks :)

Have you ever used moleskin? They sell it at drugstores. It prevents rubbing - I use it when I have a blister. I double side it so the soft part is on my skin and on my sock.
