Profile

About Me:
My husband and I have been together for a total of 11 years and married 9. When I met my husband, I had been out of college for almost a year, and the pounds were adding up. I went from a size 8 to a size 14 and there I stayed until we had our children. We have two beautiful children; Paige is 4 and Cameron is 16 1/2 months old. After Cameron was born I returned to work, but only part time. I have a Master's Degree in Community Counseling and I recently completed a certificate program in School Counseling (I'm not certified yet, still have to take the state tests which I am procrastinating). I work for a local foster care / adoption agency, however, what I do has nothing to do with that. I am a therapist and I work with juvenile sex offenders and victims of sexual abuse.

With both of my pregnancies I gained 70 lbs and was 240lbs. I nursed my daugher for 9 months and she drank the fat away. I lost another 20 lbs after I stopped nursing and I did that by counting calories. That was my first diet.

I started WW June 07 after the birth of my second child. I had already lost about 30 lbs just with giving birth and nursing. After two months of nursing I didn't know how I would lose the weight. As soon as I asked the questions, the answer "Weight Watchers" came out of my mouth. I have lost a total of 103 lbs since my son's birth (30 on my own and 73 on ww). I still have two pounds to go to reach my overall goal. Roni has been a great inspiration to me and I love her recipes. Thanks for all your support!!!

I survived!

Thanks again for all your comments and positive words. I survived my grandmother's viewing and funeral. Even gave th eulogy and got through it without out breaking down, at least until the end. I basically did everything (on behalf of my mother) or was the contact person for everything. Although it was stressful, I think it was better that way. I was super busy so I didn't have time to think or emotional eat. I was worried about my eating, mainly b.c I know me and I emotionally eat. But I kept… Continue

Thanks so much!!

Thanks so much for all your positive thoughts and comments about my grandmother's passing. Today was emotional but I did ok food wise. Not the greatest but Ok. I have to remember I won't gain 105 lbs overnight no matter what I eat. We had to pick out the casket. Surprisingly enough, those that were there, made the process easily and the choices were completed with little or no problems. Hopefully that will continue throughout the next couple of days. The out-of-town family arrives tomorrow. It'… Continue

Not what I was expecting for this weekend...

My grandmother passed away yesterday. It's still awkward to say those words and have it be about my Ma. She had been ill for some time and we knew it would be coming. However that doesn't make it any easier. And to top it all off, me, my sister and mother are the ONLY ones making the arrangements. My mother always said her sister (the oldest) would do this part, but she's no where to be found. Anyways, I found myself emotional eating last night. Thank goodness there's nothing "dangerous" in the… Continue

I'm okay, at least for today!!!

OMG, last night was bad. Food wise I did well during the day. I worked about 10 hours and I made sure I packed enough snacks to hold me along with my lunch. I had a plan for dinner (for myself anyways) until I walked in the door. DH was off with the kids and he got Domino's pizza (now we just had pizza from a local place (which I LOVE) on Friday). Plus, he stopped at the store for juice and he bought ice cream. Not the Breyer's reduced stuff I have been buying for the last 15 months. No the man,… Continue

Getting back on the horse!!

It has been a LONG while since I posted. I have to admit I've been in a really bad funk with everything we are experiencing financially. And unfortunately, it is effecting my food intake and motivation. I did not go to a meeting this past week and the two weeks before there were gains. So I am doing my best to stay OP and do what is needed to get back on track. I started back full time this past week. I'm still not happy but it is what it is. I just hate being away from the kids as long as I am… Continue

OK again with the super sweet comment! Thank you! That absolutely made my day when I read your comment!!

That was awesome of you to grow your hair out JUST for locks of love! How cool! If I ever decide to go super short, I will definitely donate mine too. But for the time being, I can't part with the long locks. Fortunately for you, you have the face shape to totally pull off short hair...I'm not so sure that I do. Maybe one day we'll see! lol...thanks again for the comment. I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are having a great day!

I am going to try the skillet veggies--they look good! Yeh, the banana yogurt is yummy--I have been eating it for breakfast (minus the choco chips!). Have a nice night too!

Hi Tanya
Thanks for adding me as a friend--always makes my day to see friend request! I love Roni's recipes too. I am always amazed at how much I can eat, and the points are low. Last week I made her mexican pie, chicken surprise, and banana/yogurt with fiber one. What do you like that she has made?

Thanks for the comment. I am really leaning towards joining WW again. I don't think I am covered through work, but I am going to have a look at my budget to see if I can work it in some how.
You have had incredible success, and are very inspiring.
