About Me:
I finally got a healthy level of disgust of my weight and eating habits that motivated change in my life, and on July 8, 2008, I began changing my eating habits to include more fruits and vegetables and less junk. I also started exercising more, 5 times a week. I took up running, which I thought I would NEVER do. July of 2008 was quite a while ago, and since then I have recently lost my passion for having a healthy lifestyle. I'm ready to get that passion back and am excited to focus on my health again for the purpose of being healthy and taking care of myself, not just for losing weight.

A little more about me... I am a music therapist and work in a public school. I work with kids with special needs, using music to support their academic goals. I live with my loving husband, Chad, and sweet dog, Thumper. My sister lives close to me and I love spending time with her and my three beautiful nieces. I also enjoy taking our dog to the dog park, going on bike rides with my husband, scrapbooking, playing the piano, and cooking.

It's a Rough Journey

So, it's been a while. But haven't all of my last posts started like this?

I decided to change my life and start losing weight over a year ago. I remember everyone would always compliment me on doing such a great job and how much hard work it is. But I never felt like it was hard. What is it that is different since then? Those first few months of losing weight just worked so well. I'm Still Here

It's been a long, long, long time. A friend has gotten back onto here, so I want to, too. And now that I'm back and see my page, my weight hasn't really budged for 6 months. Wow, time has flown... six months? At least it hasn't gone up, I guess.

I'm Getting Too Comfortable

The past few weeks I haven't been caring as much lately that the number on the scale is not dropping. Also, I will come home from work in the evening, be hungry, so I will eat whatever I want. Plus I know I'm not drinking enough water in the day. Honestly, I might be this way because I am at a point where I do feel very comfortable. The Longer Run To Date

With my gym being closed today, I knew I needed to go on a run. I don't really like running. But I like being thin and losing weight, so I guess I have to do it. I've done most of my running on the treadmill at the gym and have ran outside 2 other times- 2 miles and then 2.5 miles. RE: Body Pump 69. I think the track with the 3/4 squats are the worst! Isn't that in the lunge track? ...where you squat and only come up 3/4 of the way...for freakin' ever!! UHHHG! I guess I notice it more in my legs than anything! Have a great week!

I printed out that Shamrock shake recipe, and made a similar one without the powdered creamer ... threw in a dash of vanilla extract with the milk instead. It was delicious!
