Over-eating In The Evenings

Hummus sounds good, I'll give that a try, the crunchy aspect of the cukes sounds great, and I've had hummus before so I know I like it...thanks for that great idea!

I tend to go for salty fatty snacks above all else, but also carbs.....cheese & crackers, ramen(with cheese), soft pretzels, peanut butter, sometimes ice cream... I've tried water...it helps, ...

Losin' It! (Part II)

Profile Information

About Me:
I am a 42 year old wife and mother...I've got a 16 year old daughter and two stepsons, one 16 and one 21 and now also a 21 year old Daughter-In-Law!

I've had weight issues as long as I can remember and this is truly the only serious attempt at losing the weight I've ever undertaken. I'm not sure what is different this time but it's working. I guess I was finally ready, and I'll tell you it feels great.

Highest known weight: 310
Current weight: 250 - up 8 pounds from my last weigh in but I'm back on track!!!
Goal: 150

100 pounds to go seems like a huge thing, and it is...but I'm at 60 pounds lost and finally being able to put that big weight on the scale at the 200 and working my way down is great!

I can honeslty say I enjoy working out and that it surprises me. I get into the gym, get sweating and feeling it in my muscles, and it drives me to work harder...I've been off track for a while, but getting back in the swing to get rid of more of this extra weight. It'll kill me if I don't!

Blog To Lose is a great tool and I feel like I've made friends here. This sit is full of people who get me, who understand this struggle, and who are here to support and not judge. I feel blessed to have found BTL and can't imagine how I'd do this without all of you! And to think it all started with a search for whole wheat orzo! Long story, but ask and I'll fill you in sometime!

Can't believe the number....

Got on my bathroom scale this morning. I haven't been weighing in at all lately, and it was a shock. I knew I'd gained, but boy did I ever gain...more than 10 pounds...how depressing! Anyway....that isn't going to shake me from staying focused. In fact, if anything it is motivating me to eat right and keep going to the gym. On Track REVISITED...

Well, yesterday I felt pretty bad about myself. I did go to the gym, got 55 minutes of cardio in. That felt like a mini accomplishment. I stayed focused all day with my eating. The only time I strayed a tiny bit was the ONE bite of my daughter's McFlurry! ONE bite...I had a decent dinner (chili, rice, 1 corn muffin)...then brushed my teeth and stuck with water from 8pm on! On Track?

I've been saying I want to be on track for weeks now, and talking the talk....but I haven't been walking the walk...or lifting the weights, or walking the treadmill...NOTHING....at least not much of anything. For those of you nutty enough to listen to me going on and on over the Warwick Marching Band, the high school band my daughter is a marching member of, I have to tell you how it all turned out: WARWICK MARCHING BAND TAKES THIRD STRAIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE IN HERSHEY!!! Yep, it's me....feeling a little better day by day...

Today's been a good day so far as my eating goes...and I'll be getting lots of AP tonight, marching with the band in the Halloween Parade! I'm planning on wearing my wench costume from the Ren Faire! Give em all something to talk about!! HEHEHE Anyway...Band scored BIG on Saturday, for those of you interested, 93.70!!!...we are 2.10 points ahead of our biggest competition! Getting "ME" time back soon!

Well, the marching band season is dwindling down and will soon be over for this year. It makes me very sad to see another year over for the marching band, and I tend to get very down when it's all over....but on the flip side, I will soon be getting "ME" time back! I have two questions to pose.... No, your comment wasn't pushy. And I do usually rely on myself. I have been losing on my own and Jerod starts ww but never fully commits. Just kind of half a** does it. I told him that can't do it for him, that he needs to wait until he is really ready. My thing is I just don't want him tempting me with something he knows that I shouldn't be eating. Thanks for the comment. I usually do bring my lunch, but just couldn't get my crap together this morning. I am planning on making a quick trip to the grocery store after work and going home and getting some f&v ready to bring tomorrow. I will not let this holiday season end up like all of the rest. Hi Michele. You are so awesome. Thank you so much for such an inspiring and back to reality comment. I really really really needed it this morning. I know that you usually don't jump on during the weekend, so I'm so glad you did and were able to cheer me up a little bit.

Honestly, I was not going to work out this morning (just to have a break because I worked out hard every day last week) but I think that is bringing me down. I'm going to pick out an easy workout and go sweat myself out of it.

We did make a committment to each other and I'm going to take it serious. I know it is hard for both of us and we are going to do it together. 15 pounds a piece.

Hi Michele. I think that sounds like a great start. If you want we can email our food journals daily to each other. That way I will be forced to have some sort of accountability!!! Not sure how often you get on here, but I am on here every day. I can also give you my work email...just to increase availability.

As for working out, I do have that under control. I work out every single morning in my living room. I have a bunch of Leslie Sansone walking workouts that I do with 8 or 10 pound weights.

I really want to end this year under 200 pounds. It will be the first time I do that since I was in high school (15 years ago)!
