Losin' It! (Part II)

About Me:
Let's face it, I've been overweight all my life. Well, except for maybe babyhood! I'm 43 years old, I have teenagers and a husband that I couldn't keep up with until I started losing weight. I don't think I'll ever be an athlete, but I want to be able to keep up!

I was sick of it, sick of being tired, sick of looking lumpy in everything I wear, sick of buying fat clothes, just sick of it. I want to be healthy, I want to live a long life, I want to be successful in my journey, and feel good about myself.

I will do this, I don't care how long it takes! I am going to make it and I am going to reach my goal!

I can honestly say I enjoy working out and that it surprises me. I get into the gym, get sweaty and feeling it in my muscles, and it drives me to work harder...I've been off track for a while, but getting back in the swing to get rid of more of this extra weight. It'll kill me if I don't!

Bad to WORSE

I am trying so hard to please a boss who it would seem simply dislikes me and I honestly do not know why. He rarely speaks to me, or looks at me...and we communicate via email only.

He sent me an email on Tuesday after lunch because I was two minutes late coming back according to him. I actually noticed I was 1 minute late, but was unconcerned due to the many times I come back early, or stay later than 5:30 (my FORMER scheduled ending time), without logging any of the time on my time sheet.

How annoying is this?

Ok, working with a new girl in the office. Thin, very curvy, very pretty, outgoing, eager to please....ok...gag me. Anyway, those things aren't the issue.

The issue is that she brings food in CONSTANTLY. Sure, I can resist, and usually I do. But DAMMIT - why does she need to bring in DD coffee and donuts? That did me in today. Not proud of my weakness. Not proud of my sincere desire to DISLIKE her and unhappy about my ability to do so!

A Pound Down!

I did it, got brave and stepped up onto the platform this morning, and was pleasantly greeted with a one pound loss. Granted, it's been a long time since I've weighed in faithfully, but it was still nice to see. No idea where I've been in between...

GROUP KICK

One of the trainers at the gym has been after me for weeks now to take a Group Kick class. There is one tonight and I have to confess, I'm scared $hitless! I am not a "class" kind of person....or maybe I am just afraid to look graceless, or fat, or uncoordinated...or all of the above.

I am also concerned about how well my ankles will hold up. I still have a lot of trouble with weakness and aches and pains. Not nearly what I once had, but it worries me.

Post Workout Protein???

I just bought a canister of protein powder that you mix into water...it's the one that Biggest Loser produces with Ali on the label...

I am wondering if anyone else has tried this, and whether you use it after a workout or before? I've heard that it's great for repairing muscle after a workout...so then should I only use it after workouts when I doing weight training or after all of them?

Can you over-use it?

Working Out With My Daughter

I did it...I talked my hubby into getting a gym membership for my daughter. I am excited to be working out with her now. We motivate one another to work a little bit harder...it's like a competition, a very healthy one!

It's been quite a week. Blow up with the co-worker who I thought was fair and on "my side" so to speak regarding the boss. Must have ticked her off...don't really know but now she acts like it never happened.

Got A New Scale

I got one of those scales that tracks your weight loss and I love it. On my old scale I could see pounds, but the new one shows ounces also which give you a clearer picture of how you are doing.

Now if only I could get it to move DOWN it would be great.

There's a local station that has a segment called Therapy Thursday on what else?...Thursday morning...a funny segment to be sure, but the more I think about it, the more I am thinking that I could use therapy on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and so on...lol!

HELEN???!!!!...OMG!!! BIGGEST LOSER RESULTS....

Wow, Mike didn't win. Neither did Tara!!...HELEN took home the big prize!! $250,000!!!...She now weighs 117 pounds!! I can hardly believe it! She flew in under the radar. I don't think anyone saw her as a serious contender, but that woman rocked it out and won BIG!!!

man..you brought up a great point! Eating healthy IS expensive! Especially now that my daughter has really been watching what she is eating too! I am to the point where I hardly buy produce at the regular grocery store. I go to Aldi (if you have any there). Their produce is really cheap and very good! I load up on bags of spinach, grapes, pineapple, peppers, lettuce, onions, bananas and mangos! And just as an example...I pay $1.99 for a bag of baby spinach at Aldi...compared to $4.99-$6.99 at the grocery store!

And about getting your family to eat what you do. I don't even go there! I usually cook separate for me because they would never eat what I do. Although my daughter is starting to. Such a pain in the butt to cook 2 diff. meals!

Thanks for your comments on my latest blog post.
