About Me:
I started to learn WW principles in 2006 after a health scare at a weight of 205. I fell in love with healthy cooking, and I'm currently trying to fall in love with exercise. I was an athlete in high school, so I'm not new to exercise--I've just been on vacation for about 15 years.
Plan of Choice:
High Fiber, Weight Watchers

I need smaller bowls and I want more CAKE

I made a bowl of cereal this morning that was the recommended serving size. It was laughable! 1 cup of cereal with 1 cup of milk. I couldn't believe how tiny the portion looked! I'm someone who puts as much cereal as I can in the bowl and only allow enough space for it to rise when I add milk. I wanted to giv… Continue

What I've Learned

After about a year of messing with recipes, I finally found out the secret to having moist baked goods with no oil or eggs. What I was doing was adding the bran right in the recipe with the flour. NOW, I figured out that you have to soak the bran with a liquid (I prefer almond milk) for 5 minutes and let it get really soggy/mushy. Then you add it to the recipe. That way it acts as an egg substitute, not a flour additive. This last batch of muffins were amazinly moist.

After many years of buying… Continue

Back to normal

Wow, I haven't checked in for three months! Crazy. In that amount of time, I had two more jaw procedures to correct some TMJ pain/issues and went back to college. I believe I'm all done with jaw surgeries forever! Unfortunately, I've had an annoying cough for the past 4 weeks and haven't slept through the night once in that time frame due to coughing. There's always something keeping me from being 100% rested!

Let's see, I'm back up to 197 pounds again. I'm back to drinking 4 cans of soda a day… Continue

Checking In

Let's see..what's new?

Thyroid: I don't have a thyroid, so I'm on thyroid replacement hormones. That was all fine and dandy until the decided to change my dose. I got hugely depressed as a result. The specialists swear it has nothing to do with the dose change, but I'm still very suspicious. They told me to go on antidepressants, because they are not putting my thyroid dose back to where it was.

Depression: So after several weeks of depression, I ended up on an antidepressant. I hate it. Don't… Continue

Hey Kaemrain...thanks for joining our Breast Cancer 3Day walkers group! We'll totally need all the cheerleaders we can get! Especially when it comes to our training beginning! The training program they have designed is pretty intense! The weekly mileage ranges anywhere from 18-44 miles per week!

Hey saw your comment on the board about your WW slider thing. I actually just walked into my WW location and bought one of the calculators for 10 dollars. And I was not a memeber of WW. I would give that a try!
