Profile Information

About Me:
I am a 28 year old wife and mother of 3 children! I work part-time over Medical Records at a short-term rehab center.

I’ve always viewed myself as heavy, ever since I was in elementary school. (That view came from society, of course, as I wasn't a 'stick' figure.) I’ve struggled with a low self-esteem for as long as I can remember. As far as diets of any sort, the first attempt started in 6th grade when I became anorexic. The next year I did some weird fiber cookie diet thing. So the yo-yo roller-coaster started in Junior High and I’ve been on that ride since. I’ve done everything from South Beach Diet, Slim Fast shakes, Weight Watchers twice, diet pills bought from the television that I can’t even recall the names of, Meredia, Phentramine, etc. you get the picture! And with each attempt I’ve ended up heavier than when I started.

Looking back even 9-10 years ago when I felt I was real heavy, I looked pretty good. That's my goal is to get back to where I was around 9 years ago. I am on my journey to lose 80 pounds and to create lifetime healthy habits that I can also pass on to my children.
Plan of Choice:
Low Fat, High Fiber, Weight Watchers
Workout Philosophy:
I loath exercice, I only exercise because I have to

Day 6- HCG

I wanted to do a little update, even if this is only for myself. YOU'RE DOING IT!!! Sorry, had to do a shout out for myself. I've done 4 days of the 500 calories and I'm surviving. To be very honest for anyone else who may be considering the HCG diet, the first 3 days of 500 calories was extremely hard on me. Part of it was due to the massive headaches I had, which I'm sure were related to caffeine withdrawals as I quit my Diet Pepsi cold turkey on Day 1 of 500 calories. Today has been a much be… Continue

Still alive!

Ok, I'm not going to get hung up on the should haves, could haves, etc. Bottom line is this...I'm up 20 pounds in large part due to a new medication added for my bi-polar. The doctor warned me before starting it that it was the main side effect but that because of where I was mentally at that point, that was the least of his/my worries.

So, I'm pretty darn sad because I'm at my all time high. I weigh more right now (by a couple pounds) than I ever have. BUT, change is on the horizon.

I'm just… Continue

Tuesday Thoughts

I very quickly wanted to post and get myself accountable again to posting regularly. I've started seeing a therapist and I'm hoping that we're on to some good things with clearing out the 'junk' in my head. I started an additional medication that although I didn't feel was really doing anything different initially, I've since decided it is helping in subtle ways that I wasn't realizing.

I have always and forever HATED to work out in the yard. It's not my thing. I don't care to be outside or any… Continue

BCM- There is a Cure...so why is it so hard?

BCM= Body Clutter Mission

What is your image of beautiful?
Not sure. Beautiful can definitely be something on the inside and outside. In general, I feel pretty confident on what I have on the inside.

The best description I can give of beautiful (remember this is MY perception)...in the ideal world to me...
slender, thin face, cute hair, nice smile...that would be the main picture that comes to my mind.

Diet schemes that you have tried and how you did with them and what you feContinue

Body Clutter- Food: The Ultimate Weapon of Self-Destruction

Ok! I've been reading another book called Body Clutter by Marla Cilley and Leanne Ely. At the end of each section there is a self-evaluation to do. They call these "Body Clutter Missions". So..here's the 1st one.

First memory of comfort food. Is it a certain food or any food?
I remember clear back when I was probably 13 or 14 having an 'awareness' of good food. I've always liked baking so cookies have always been around for as long as I can remember. My first memory of cookies is… Continue

Ahhh so good to get a comment from you Kellie! I only have about 3 seconds to say hi, but I'm coming back later to check up on you :)

Even if that motivation bug doesn't come, just keep going through the motions. Eventually it WILL come back, and at the very least you'll be at the same weight instead of heavier- now that would really suck.

Good Morning Kellie!
Thanks for the posts. As for veggies, you will never find me eating them raw, but I low cooked veggies or hiding them in some of my foods. I made a cheeseburger roll up dinner and it has one zucchini shredded and added for bulk. I served it to my boyfriends roommates and they had NO idea. I can get you the recipe. But I have just gotten very creative with veggies I guess. roasted chick peas are a great snack, or sweet potato fries, or even spaghetti squash which is a new favorite of mine, because I treat it like a grain rather then a veggies.

As for not counting points or calories. Well I figure if I am making healthy choices and am working out that it will balance. I actually make out two lists before I got grocery shopping. One list has all the meals we will have for the week, breakfast foods, and lunch foods. I then make my grocery list off of that. And only get that (otherwise ill be down the chip aisle looking for "new" finds....which is just too tempting). I then look at all the different products and compare points. I find if I have lost fat, low calories, low point things in the house that I dont have to worry as much about counting. I even go to the point of taking a sharpie and writing two points over the nutritional facts of wheat thins or whatever just so that I am aware. It is just easier for me that way!

Hope that helps! Also for you and the family check out.... www.shoutinfromtherooftop.com She has two girls and some great family friendly meals! And SUPER easy as well!

Have a great day, sorry for such a long post!

Blue bunny makes some good ice cream that is made with splenda that is pretty low in points. And I think great value (wal-mart) brand makes an ice cream sandwich with splenda that is low in points. I also found a brand of little debbie type snacks made with splenda that aren't too expensive - it's called Mrs. Freshley's. I also make alot of pies with sf ff pudding and reduced fat graham cracker crusts.
