I had a small loss this week, but I figure at least it's in the right direction. I think there is a direct correlation to the amount of Edy's Loaded Peanut Butter Cup ice cream I eat, regardless of whether I have the points for it, and how much weig…

Welcome back, I'm sorry to hear about your struggles recently, but if you've done it before I'm sure that you know you can do it again. Follow your heart and know what you want and need, it will all be worth it in the end! You can do this... and kud…

Good luck to you! I am sorry to hear that you are going through ppd. I also struggled with it with my second child and know how hard it can be. It is great that you are starting therapy and doing WW to start focusing on yourself. It is hard to remem…

About Me:
Welcome to my blog! The name of my blog "I'm a Pickle" comes from one of my early WW meetings when I first joined. My leader said that loosing weight is like turning a cucumber into a pickle--it's a process. It takes the right ingredients (like eating wisely and moving more along with all the WW tools) and time. You don't turn a cucumber into a pickle overnight. Moreover, you can't turn a pickle back into a cucumber! The change is permanent. So, once I was a cucumber. Now I'm in the process of becoming a pickle and there's no turning back!

I am a 29 year old living in a suburb of Atlanta. I've been married for four years to my adorable husband, who just recently started tracking Weight Watcher's points with me! I lost 55 pounds before becoming pregnant with my precious daughter. I gained WAY too much during pregnancy, but what's done is done. I'm back to WW and already loosing. Blogging has really helped me stay focused and get out all those emotions connected with food and trying to loose weight. This is a fabulous community of people who are both inspiring and encouraging.

I tend to lose slowly, hence the turtle tracker. I also used to have a pet turtle back when I taught second grade (we made it race another teacher's pet rabbit at recess one day--what fun!) The rabbit won, though...

Peanut Butter

I had a small loss this week, but I figure at least it's in the right direction. I think there is a direct correlation to the amount of Edy's Loaded Peanut Butter Cup ice cream I eat, regardless of whether I have the points for it, and how much weight I lose. I guess I'll have to start limiting my consumption.

Speaking of peanut butter (my favorite food)...I discovered a peanut butter that is only 3 points for 2 Tbsp. It is called Naturally More and also has flax seeds and other heart healthy o… Continue

My re-committment to Weight Watchers

I rejoined WW 8 weeks ago, but I really wasn't committed at that time. I allowed emotional eating from post partum depression to excuse old habits. Even though I got an amazing 42 points (due to breastfeeding) I didn't stay within those and lost, but then gained. At this point, I'm in therapy for post partum depression, I have a plan to help my DD nap during the day (which I just started today...we'll see how it goes) and I'm recommitting to WW. I have lost 4.4 pounds since rejoining, but I've l… Continue

She is here!

Kaitlyn Elise was born April 10th, 2009 via c-section, 9 pounds 21 1/4 inches long. Mom and baby are doing well. Breastfeeding is going much better now that Katie and I have both learned this new skill--though I'm sure we still have lots to learn too! I've already lost 33 pounds since delivery without even trying. While 9 pounds of it was Katie and I'm sure a few pounds were placenta and amniotic fluid, I think I'm doing pretty well. I've heard breastfeeding burns something like 1000 calories an… Continue

Almost there!

At my appt. today, I was 1/2 cm dialated and the baby's head was not fully engaged, but lower. My next appt is Monday when they will evaluate me again and decide what to do. I was relieved when the nurse practitioner said they would not induce me unless my body was showing more signs of readyness. I'm going to try the "natural" methods of induction (sex and walking, no castor oil for me!) and see what happens between now and Monday. I went walking this past Monday, but yesterday the weather was… Continue

When will it be over?

Only 10 days until the due date. I had an appointment today and they did another ultrasound because I was measuring large and they found the heartrate in my upper abdomen, so they were worried the baby might be breech. They checked 2 weeks ago and she wasn't, but I guess anything can happen.

They did the ultrasound and the baby is not breech, but they also did the body measurements this time to see how big the baby is. She is alerady measuring 8 pounds 3 oz! I have gained 54 (YIKES!) pounds so… Continue

Thanks for the advice about food and weight gain--I am feeling so anxious for some reason. Guess it is because my morning sickness has gone away and my appetite has increased! I am SO hungry sometimes. Maybe after a few days of being able to eat normally again, I will be able to reign things in a little better :~)

Hope you are doing well!!

Yeah, but I cannot seem to NOT get the Italian when I go...in my opinion, there really isn't any other kind of sandwich that is good :-) I'd love to hear about using the Chik'n patties to see if it turns out good! That gives me lots of ideas on how to use it...melting a slice of mozzerella on top and serving with some pasta and sauce is another quick Chik'n Parm idea!
