Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Since losing a significant amount of weight, I waited a long time to buy dress pants that actually fit. I was still wearing a size 16 long after I should have. About a month ago, I bought two pairs (it works well because I am a sub so I can rotate them nicely through my week at different schools). I don't want to buy a whole new wardrobe since I plan on losing more weight. At that time, I also bought a new pair of jeans. I exchanged my old pairs (18) for one size 16 - which at the time fit right. Now they hang off me. Not only did I feel frumpy, but I am sure I looked it! So, this afternoon, I went out and bought a pair at old navy in a size 14. Again, I do not want to buy multiple expensive pairs since I do not plan on staying in a size 14. So if you are reading this and thinking, "hey, my pants are way too big as well!" Please head out and buy yourself a couple of 'inbetween' pairs. It is so not worth wearing the frumpy pair they do not fit you well. You did the work, now show it off! I feel great in my size 14 pair - I feel so much slimmer than when I was wearing my 16 (having to literally hike them up all the time!)

When I do get to goal - and find the right fit of pants. I am going to treat myself to a really nice pair of pants regardless of the price tag! There are a pair of Silver jeans that I have had my eye on, but I have been too embarrassed to try them on - what if they don't have a size big enough. But when I am at goal, I am going to head out and buy a pair that fit me right!

I was thinking about this at Curves this morning and again in the shower just before now. I remember when the scale read 225.6 and all I wanted was for it to read 185. I felt that if only I could weigh that much I would never think about weight again. I was wrong. Now as the scale reads 187, I know that I have more in me to lose. I have washed my hands of the holidays, I can see my routine starting up again, and I know that each week I can make it happen. Whether that means a loss of .5 or a loss of 3lbs - I can do it, and when I say I, I mean: We can do it! This morning I finally had a chance to watch Biggest Loser. It is such a inspiration to see the contestants put it all out there, and as the show progresses, to see the difference in their mental and physical well-being. Wherever you are on this journey of reaching a healthy life, remember you can do it. It takes time, but boy is it worth it. My leader at my ww meeting last night handed out Popsicles sticks to everyone last night. At first I thought is this some sick joke, then I remember my leader wouldn't do that to us - not to mention the 75% of the group who had just joined. She then told us to take them home, write stick with it on the stick and place it somewhere (ie kitchen) for it to serve as a reminder. I think this was a cute idea. So, if you have any popsicle sticks laying around, make one your "stick with it" stick and know that you too can do it!!!
