First, I want to REALLY thank all of you who commented on my first post. I had no idea that would happen, and I'm so touched and overwhelmed by the support! I'm going to try to log in and post every day. I can't wait to browse and read other people's pages too! I haven't gotten a chance to even try that yet.
Yesterday I joined blog to lose and started this page. This morning I went back to my old Weight Watchers meeting. I weighed 235.2 -- exactly .2 more than the last time I joined (a half-arsed attempt a few months ago). If there is a silver lining to my erratic and unaccountable eating and non-existent exercise the last few months, I suppose it is that I didn't gain more....?
Well, facing the music allowed me to reset the clock. I'm determined not to cut myself down and do all the negative self-talk for what I did or didn't do in the past. Today is a new day. I acknowledge myself for taking these positive steps (joining this community, starting this blog, and going back to WW). I commit to myself to write everything down this week that I eat, start eating and moving consciously, and go to my weigh-in next week. In the past, I've failed to go back if I didn't have a good start. Not this time.
This morning I went with my husband and 2-year old daughter E to a 3-year old's birthday party. They had bagels and cream cheese, fruit, and a tomato and fresh mozzarella salad (it was a morning thing). I only ate the fruit (zero points!). Then they had cupcakes. My friend, the mom of the 3 year old, is an incredibly amazing wonderful baker and staying away from her treats will be one of my bigger challenges. My daughter has a dairy allergy and there was buttercream frosting. usually I eat all her frosting. I did want a taste, so I had one small bite of the frosting only and I'm counting a point for it. So I suppose that's my first NSV!! Not only did I not eat the cupcake, but I made a plan for the frosting that allowed me to have a small taste, and was successful not having more. Several people came up with a plate for me and I said no thank you. Whew! (I had a hard boiled egg before we went -- zero points (core)).
Now I have to go to work for a few hours (grumpy me -- not happy about it on a Sunday). I just warmed up some chicken that had a small coating and I'm calling that one point (not sure if it is any, but to be safe...). I have a green salad but I'll wait on that and have it at work. Will make an almost all-Core dinner tonight (I'm giving Core on Weight Watchers a try). Lean turkey sausages for 3 points each -- I'll have one. Corn on the cob with no butter -- zero. And I'll either make a green salad or we have some broccoli. That's the plan for day 1....
Thanks again to any readers. What a great community -- I'm so glad I stumbled this community!!
