Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

I realize most of my my posts are fairly boring, but I have made an informal goal with myself to post everyday, no matter what. So, today, with nothing to say and only a minute to take time to write, I have a fairly boring post for y'all. Who am I kidding? It's INCREDIBLY boring.

Food: apple, Carb Control Myoplex bar, homemade French Onion soup (go me!), 1 whole-wheat roll, some carrots and venison (did not weigh), and I may allow myself a bite or two of a dessert from Starbucks today.

Exercise: Nothing...the day kinda passed me by and now I have to head to work. I did get to walk around WalMart and, believe it or not, working at Sbux for 4 hours actually uses a fair amount of energy.

Yays: My thought processes while grocery shopping have changed - I'm much better at saying no to even relatively healthy things, like diet soda, and really sticking to "clean" foods; I made my own French Onion soup - way cheaper and I know EXACTLY what is going in to it; even after the VLCD, I'm doing a really good job controlling my portions

For later: Starbucks and how I'm scared to allow myself treats for fear I will "relapse"; I think I'm getting a much truer appreciation of what alcoholics and such must go through during their recovery processes. As I've said before, my Dad is a recovered alcoholic, so this "diet/lifestyle" thing I am on, and breaking the binge eating cycle, has really helped me to learn to appreciate his journey a lot more.

Oops...in my comment above, I meant to say that the calories without Sbux were 800 to 850. At Sbux I had 3/4 of a coffee cake and 1/2 of an oatmeal cookie. That was more than I had wanted to indulge in, but I feel okay with that. I felt in control, and that's what matters. Using the Sbux website, I had about 500 calories of yummy Sbux goodness - and I enjoyed every darn bite!!!

Nothing wrong with boring posts! Some of mine are real snooze-fests, too. The important thing is that you make it a habit.

Tack on a yogurt to the food above. With including Sbux, calorie count for the day is ~800 to 850 calories. (Do not consume this few calories without medical supervision!)
