Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

I did work eleven hours yesterday. I was at work at 6:30 am and didn't leave until 5:30 pm. As I was leaving, I ran into a teacher who had come back for the basketball game and she couldn't believe I was just leaving. I was (correction: am) exhausted, but I needed to get some work done and reflect on the first day back.

I did just fine eating while I was at school (12 points total), but it was when I got home that things got crazy. I was so hungry! I couldn't get full. I had a piece of oatnut bread with strawberry cream cheese, then I ate dinner (steak sandwich), then I ate some Christmas Candy (Ugh, I need to get rid of it), then I had two bowls of cereal and some yelatin. I'm not sure if the first day back at work caused my metabolism to rev up or if it was "fake" hunger and I'm just stressed to be back at work. Either way, I took in about 39 points.

I think I let myself get too hungry after school. I didn't have a snack prepared and I made myself wait until I got home to eat anything. I have popcorn in my desk, so the plan today is to pop some popcorn as soon as school lets out and snack on it while I'm grading and getting ready for the next day.

Here's my plan for today:

Breakfast: yelatin and some water (I got dehydrated yesterday)
Lunch: chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes and green beans (school lunch as I have nothing prepared at home)
Snack: Popcorn
Dinner: turkey meat sauce and whole wheat spaghetti

I may even have points for dessert if I stick to the plan!

I read a book about appetites and the author says once you get too hungry, your fullness sensor turns off and it is almost impossible to feel satiated. Having the popcorn on hand makes sense. I have such a difficult time stopping myself at work, and eating! I would much rather wait until I have some free time and really enjoy the eating.
