I finished my class a week ahead of schedule. I went ahead and signed up for the second part of the class. There are a lot of assignments, but they are all easy. Plus the teacher leading the class taught with me this last year.
My mom who has worked in my brother's dental office forever quit about a month ago. She had some coworker issues and just needed a break. My brother talked her into going back to work because they can't make it without her even though my dad told her she could stay home. He runs his own business, and she was helping him out a little. I told her that she's crazy. I joked with my mom that if my husband told me I could stay home that I would leave my class right at that moment! Anyway, so we spent some of yesterday with her. We met her at Cracker Barrel. It was sooo good. My mom and I got grilled chicken tenders, green beans, dumplings, and corn. I ate more cornbread than I intended because the waiter brought extra because it took them forever to bring our food out. We also had coffee which was delicious. Then we went to Office Max for my mom to pick up some supplies for her desk.
I have actually always hated fireworks. When I was little, I would get excited but then they would scare me. As I got older, they just annoyed me. At our old apartment, there were always people shooting off fireworks too close to cars and our apartment. Now, they always freak out my dog. On a whim, the husband and I stopped by the fireworks stand. Mainly I just wanted some sparklers and these things that pop when you throw them on the ground. The poppers were the only thing that didn't scare me when I was little. So yes, even sparklers scared me. We also ran by Wal-Mart. We always make a point to go late so it's not crowded but it was 11, and there were three tons of people there. So anyway, by the time we got home, it was too late to shoot off the few actual fireworks that we did get, so we just played with the poppers and the sparklers. It was really a lot of fun. We'll probably go to the park for the fireworks display, so I'm looking forward to it.
I've got to go search for a book that I might have my 8th graders read.
