Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

So, every time hubby is home, meaning every other month...I eat poorly. Not really bad but not as well as I would like and I need some help figuring out how to get a handle on it. He likes to make us lunch...and it's something that is sauteed in butter and has bread and cheese and other goodies. It turns out being like a 500 calorie sandwich. When he's gone, I have an easy time staying around 1300 calories for the day...but i eat lots of fresh veggies/fruits and not a whole lot of bread and "filler" items. I'm doing pretty good as far as not eating a whole sandwich but the calories are killing me! I ended up not going to kickboxing tonight cause we are going hiking tomorrow...and depending on how i feel when we get home i might hit tomorrow nights class....I have been having really sore calves so i wanted to make sure tomorrows event wouldn't be painful!

anyway, any advice on dealing with this eating issue would be helpful. He realizes that it's hard for me and is trying to tame it down...but since he's home every other month, we tend to stay home and eat all our meals together and the kids really like it when Daddy cooks....but i don't want to make a whole other meal just for me....anyway, thoughts and suggestions would be great! Or even just some get control of yourself comments!!

ok, well off to bed....I am so stuffed from tonights dinner and am really sleepy *he made prime rib and fried potatoes* darnit.

night all!

Maybe you can explain to him that you want to stick to your healthy eating when he is home, and y'all could try cooking together so you can show him ways to lighten up his favorite meals. :-)

That is a very difficult situation! You have to deal with that temptation that you otherwise normally wouldn't- I'm sorry. But at the same time it's a trade off b/c you get him home. Maybe you could find some weight watcher or other healthy recipes that sound good and give them to him to make :) Or compromise on how often he cooks... Wow I can't believe he is gone every other month. That must be sooo hard!!!! You are a strong woman.
