Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

I hope that works- I've never tried to embed video before.
Last night after my good weigh in- had about 7 daily points left- even after my dinner. I wanted a nice treat that I would really enjoy. I had been saving this butterscotch Dilly bar in the freezer for about a week for just such a moment when I had a)extra points and b)the desire for a bigger treat. I went to the freezer all excited to get it and enjoy it while watching American Idol. *gasp* where is it? behind the peas? No. . .behind the frozen fruit? no. . .did I move it to make room for the ground turkey? no. . . .THE HUSBAND. Darn him...he took my treat! I marched up stairs and said "Did you eat my dilly bar?!"- and he says "Your dilly bar? When was it YOUR dilly bar".

All of a sudden, I realized how territorial I can be with food. It isn't MY food. And if I hadn't communicated that I wanted to save that one for me for this type of moment (which I hadn't), then why would I expect him to know that. So- I apologized for my childish behavior, yelled "Joey doesn't share food" and then got some sugar free Jello instead. Not the same, but I was happy for having learned something about myself....I need to open my lock around food. Life without a treat is not a life less lived; it's just a moment without sugar....not an entirely bad thing.

That's awesome! To this point, my hubby has been pretty understanding of "my" food. He knows that when I have popcorn, it's the lowfat kind and he knows not to take any. He wouldn't want to anyway! He wouldn't eat my progresso soups either because they have point values on them. I actually wish he would eat some of it! He's tipping the scale at close to 300 pounds and I really wish I could get him to eat my food!

It's my friend, Steph, that doesn't understand not to take my food. We go to class together and two weeks ago I asked her to go to subway during the break. She said she wasn't hungry so I went by myself. I came back with a foot long (I hadn't started WW yet) and she goes, hey, can I have a bite? So she eats half of one of the subs! I couldn't believe it! I was like, um...hello? are ya gonna give it back? So last night I ask her again, she says she's not hungry, and I don't have time to go to subway, so I make one of my single serving bags of popcorn and I set on the table. I hold my stomach and say I'm STARVING! And she apologizes for not going to subway. Then asks if she can have some of my popcorn! If looks could kill she'd probably be hurting pretty badly right about now! She got all defensive and said, I just want two pieces! But hey, you weren't hungry, and that's mine!!!! I don't share! hee hee! So I totally get it!

My sweetie has learned the hardway that he had better keep his mitts OUT of my popcorn. Seriously. It's ugly.

I'm very much the same way at times- definitely something I need to work on!

This may sound weird, but sometime's for a sweet I'll mix 1 T of peanut butter with 1/2 c. of fat free cool whip. It actually tastes pretty good!

(Also, it's great to see another person from Indiana! I'm down in Bloomington, so the Indianapolis caught my eye.)

My boyfriend's always trying to get me to share food, too ... but I don't like to do it. When I have something on my plate, or in my hand or whatever, I usually know how many Points are in it ... and if the Boyfriend takes a bite, I don't anymore.

I will share, and gladly, if I have enough for each of us ... last night, I brought a piece of banana bundt bread specifically for him. He didn't eat it -- took one bite and said it was "too healthy" tasting for him. But I did offer!
