Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

I read this post this morning and I think it is one everyone should read. I found it truly inspiring. The author Bre talks about how when asked by a Chiropractor did she get bypass surgery to help her lose 60lbs she replied " Nope, it's all me" She goes on to say:

"I have a ton of support, but those people can't be everywhere - they are not at work taking cookies out of my mouth, I have to make the choice to not eat them - they are not with me on the drive home when I pass 2 million fast food restaurants and don't drive thru and grab a snack - they are not there in the middle of the night when I could rummage through my kids candy stash but I resist"

I think Bre's post is so inspiring because it is REAL. There are many of you amazing bloggers out there who have done just the same as Bre and I just want you all to know that IT IS ALL YOU! Give yourself the credit you deserve.

As I am just starting out I found myself thinking of the flipside of that story. If I eat cookies at work and drive thru on the way home it is just as equally ALL ME. So often we blame our surroundings, the people in our lives, our schedules for why we ate poorly or did not excerise, when in truth the ultimate decision lies with us.

I think Bre's "It's all me" is a great little phrase to keep in mind to inspire you throughout your day so you can be proud of what you have achieved and motivated to continue. Thanks Bre for the inspiration.

Love this post! It is VERY tempting not to take the credit, I have a real problem with that and I think a lot of others do too. Same for when we don't eat as we should too! You are so insightful- thank you (and Bre) for this post :)

Thanks for the link to the post - it's a good one. I'll never be totally clear on why people have surgery, but I'm definitely not judging! I have 100 pounds to lose (74 more) and would never even consider it. You lose the weight when you eat less and move more! -- however, I know there are people out there with other medical issues, which is why I don't judge!

Anyway, keep up the great work - I'm still so excited about your 4 pound loss last week!
