Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

So...I had yet another gallbladder attack in the middle of my shift Sunday (Thankfully we only had 4 patients!), so I went down to the ER, got iv hydration and some pain meds and was as good as new!. The ER doc called my bariatric surgeon, pinned down with him what was going on and the bariatric surgeon asked to see me no later than this morning. So I went yesterday at 1pm and 5 minutes after he examined me, he told me the best thing to do right now is to take the gallbladder out as it would just continue to give me fits, more so the more weight I lose. He wants it out asap, so I go in Thursday (the 8th) for outpatient surgery. Should take less than an hour and I will be home by evening. This should not affect my ability to have bariatric surgery in March, he likes to have one month in between procedures to heal. Anyway, please keep me in your prayers that they do not have to open for this as I have had several belly surgeries and there is the concern of scar tissue.

I'll totally be praying for you! I had mine out last year and while the actually surgery business wasn't exactly pleasant, not having to worry about those stupid attacks every again is awe-some!!!

Wow they aren't fooling around are they? That is a really quick surgery date. It's wonderful that they can do that on a out patient basis
