Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Happy Friday everyone! I decided to take a break from the MJ madness going on the TV to catch up with all of you.

This week has been a bit crazy for me, although, the more I think about it -- my life is pretty insane all the time. Haha. Today is the last day of my summer class (whoohoo!) which means I'm done forever now! Too exciting! I'm pretty pumped that I'll finally have a bit more time to focus on moving. Both in the health sense and literal. Only 4 weeks left till I'm done with work, and 5 weeks till moving day! Mymymy, how time flies.

The weather this week has been absolutely ridiculous. Robyn, I know you know what I'm talking about! The midwest has been almost unbearable with the heat index around 105deg. Then, the humidity builds up so much that it's been pouring rain every other day or so! haha, we just can't get that happy medium here in Iowa. Along with the shift in weather, I've seemed to pick up a cold. I headed to the doc yesterday and found out I had a sinus infection, along with an ear infection in both ears! yikes.

Even with all that crud, I've been staying as active as possible! I busted out the Wii yesterday, and got some good boxing time in. I kicked that trainer's BUTT =) I've also been researching some gyms in the new town I'm moving to, and have found a few that I'm for sure checking out. My one requirement : they must have ZUMBA! I've never done it, but heard rave reviews from Malia and Erica ... I gotta get into that! I'm also thinking about purchasing some weight gloves to use doing some cardio work.

Phase Two has started with my Best Life Diet progress, and I'm so proud of all the ladies in our group! We've done really well and are looking forward to dropping those pounds =) During this phase, the focus is more on the nutrition side of things. Eliminating problem foods, recognizing the emotional side of hunger, and using the "hunger scale" to determine when you should be eating/stop eating. Along with the items Bob suggests 6 problem foods to eliminate, and I've added one more for good measure : PIZZA. I just have to let it go! haha. I have kind of the same attitude towards pizza as Rachel does for doughnuts! haha. My only issue is that I have absolutely no self control with it. Once I'm within sight of my GW, I can add those back in. I'll be more active and have more fat-burning muscle, so I can allow those "anything goes" calories to come into my diet.

Goodbye dear friend. Your cheesy goodness will no longer clog my arteries. Your greasy deliciousness will no longer make me bloated and gross all day. You shall not tempt me, you shall not win!! (haha)

ps - on a much more serious note, please visit Rachel's latest blog and leave her some good vibes. We're all thinking of you Rachel!

Have a great weekend everybody! have a slice of pizza for me! ;)

We've had similar weather here as well - sticky and hot all day and thunderstorms all night for the past few days.
Congrats on finishing up your class and on your commitment to avoid pizza. It is a trigger food for me too, sometimes I will fool myself into thinking that I could control it if we ordered it in and then I go head over heels completely losing control when it arrives. Good for you for giving it up for now!

Love your farewell to pizza! I need to come up with a farewell to pizza myself. I keep trying to figure out if we could get a small pizza and eat a salad and lots of veggies before.... maybe that will work? Or am I just fooling my evil loving-pizza self into something I know I shouldn't even try?
