Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Sooo I've been uber busy with life and work in general. I feel like I haven't had a moment to breath lately. Except Sunday, I was SO sick. It was awful. I basically lay on the couch all day clutching my stomach and telling myself not to get sick. Monday I felt a little better, less stomach, more head feeling like it was going to explode. I have had a lot of headaches lately and I am NOT digging it. Then the last few days I've been getting real dizzy. Not when I'm moving but when I am sitting perfectly still. So after the New Year I suppose I better get into the doctor. I wish I could do it now but with Christmas and Florida I just won't have the money until January.

We've got a few cool things planned ahead for Florida. We're leaving in the afternoon on the 25th and stopping in Ohio to visit with David's mother & his siblings (all six of them!). We should be down there the 27th and all settled into our condo which is on the ocean - yay! We're going on an eco tour in a lagoon to see manatees and such, another day we're going to Disney. I'm really excited about this trip first because I get a break from work and second David has never seen the ocean OR been to Disney! He'll be like a little kid, too cute! New Years Eve we're going to the HUGE party on Cocoa Beach Pier and New Years Day we are swimming with the dolphins! That is about all we can afford but the rest of the time I'm sure we will be relaxing by the pool or walking around. I plan on doing a TON of walking and only indulging a little bit. I am determined not to gain one single pound that week!

Like I said Thanksgiving was good. I ate what I wanted and was full at the end of the night, but not stuffed. I didn't even touch dessert! The rest of the long weekend was hit and miss. I ate well and then I had a few bad meals but that's okay. This week I've been right on track!

I have not been exercising at all and I know I need to start but it's hard for me. When working out I like to be outdoors doing something, not running on a treadmill or elliptical. I HATE gyms, aside from the classes, I LOVE the classes. I'm thinking maybe snowshoeing or cross-country skiing? Anyone do anything like that? I am pretty sure my dad has snowshoes that my mom bought before the divorce and never used.....it'd be perfect. Even just for walking around the neighborhood I think. Our sidewalks aren't really cleared anywho. Hmmm...I think I like the snowshoeing idea more than the cross-county skiing. I've done cross-country and it's fun but I never really did get the hang of it. So who snowshoes? And what is it like?

Weigh-In Today - 200.5 So I didn't make it to onederland but I didn't gain after a holiday & for the first year in I don't know how long I got back on track right away & didn't let the bad eating drag on so while I'm a little peeved because of how close I am, I'm still happy. :-]

I am going to make it next week, I swear!

I hope you get to feeling better soon! It seems like many people have been feeling really yucky lately. I wanted to add my 2 cents about snow shoeing. My husband and I live in western PA, pretty much in the snow belt of the lake effect snow coming off Lake Erie. We bought the snow shoes a few years ago thinking we'd get to use them alot, but we really have only been able to use them once or twice a year since buying them because you really need quite abit of snow for them to really suit the need. Otherwise you could just get away with hiking through the snow. But, it is a good workout, it's really as simple as walking once you get the hang of walking a bit awkwardly, but it's definitely fun! I've x-country skiied twice around here, you can actually get away with doing it in less snow, but unless there are already tracks, it can be a real pain trying to push your own way through. I think it's great that you want to do something active and outdoors through the winter. My husband and I do a ton or hard core mountain biking all year round, but once the snow hits we have to try something else and that's why we bought the snow shoes. Hope you figure out what you'd like to do! I also hope you make it to "onederland" soon!
