Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

So this past Tuesday I made my 10 percent at WW and hit the 20-pound mark. When I think about how impossible it seemed to lose 20 pounds three months ago it's just funny to me what a difference this has made in my life.

I feel sooooo different from the way I did last Thanksgiving - when I was busy sneaking food bites, plotting out my "leftover" binges and thinking hateful thoughts about my body. This year I'm researching low-fat mashed potato recipes and experimenting with dips and desserts that are good for you. Yesterday in the grocery store my husband and I made our annual "Thanksgiving" food trip, piling ingredients in the cart and trying to distract our toddler from her boredom. I was explaining my plan to make a low-fat, yummy bannana cream and white chocolate pie and my husband just stood there shaking his head.

"Listen to you, Miss Healthy," he joked. "You're going to become one of those freaky health nuts if you don't watch yourself."

"Wouldn't that be great?" and I smiled.

I feel like I can BE HEALTHY, LIVE HEALTHY, EAT HEALTHY. It is such an amazing feeling and nothing scares me - not even our Thanksgiving spread.

What a difference this life change has made in my life...

Congrats to you on the 20 lbs! Your enthusiasm and positive energy really comes through in your writing! I too am planning on a healthier Thanksgiving. My gym is offering a kick butt class that morning and I plan on a sweet potato instead of stuffing, no gravy and just a tiny sliver of pumpkin pie. I'm a little more worried about Christmas as we'll be traveling for 4 days and I'm not sure what kind of exercise I can get besides a couple of small walks.

Catherine, I'm on Flex and to me it feels like a long time but I started Sept. 10 and had so soooo weeks of losing .2 pounds and all that. I also exercise four times a week to get my heart rate up. The rate isn't that important to me really. I just want to keep whatever I lose off.

You go girl! I'm planning on a healthy OP Thanksgiving as well...and believe me...since I'm cooking, it won't be a problem! It's only going to be my family of 4, so it should be pretty low-key! We may go to a movie in the afternoon.

I will bake a pumpkin pie for the family, but i found a great alternative for myself! I stole it from somebody else's blog about a year ago. I take an individual sugar free/fat free vanilla pudding...mix it with 1/3 c. pumpkin...add some cinnamon and a packet of splenda. Then top it with cool whip! It makes a HUGE bowl and it totally satisfying for me!

Congrats! I just passed the 20lbs mark myself and absolutely agree with you! Gotta ask you though. Are you on Flex or Core? How did you manage to lose so quickly? I guess your weight loss is average by I'm a slow turtle.

I'm so excited for you! Keep the motivation going--you can do anything! Reading this post reminded me of myself a few months ago when I too lost 20 lbs and hit my first 10%. It's a wonderful feeling. I love to be the "Health Nut" in my family!
