Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

I started WW about nine days ago and followed it perfectly. I was SOOOO damned good. Before I ate anything I checked to see if it was on Core. I wouldn't eat it if it wasn't Core. I exercised and everything. Then -- last Wednesday when I went for my first weigh-in, I was actually UP 2/10 of a pound. I couldn't frickin believe it!! I was sure I had lost weight because I was so good. That was my birthday too. So I almost lost it. I went home and ate tortialla chips with cheese sauce. Then my husband brought home some white cake with thick frosting from the grocery store. . .( I had made my own diet cake with a low sugar mix and pineapple-- no fat.) But I ate the bad cake from Safeway-- and I ate a LOT-- two huge pieces. (sigh) Then-- I decided-- I can still do this. But I know now it's going to be slow. Real slow. But I'm going to do it even if it takes two years. So this week I'm counting points, but paying for it because of my birthday binge when I fell off the wagon.

I understand how frusturating weight loss can be and there have been times where I was in exactly the same situation and I reacted the EXACT same way! You're right, we have to remember that weight loss is a slow process and some weeks our hard work may not show up on that scale. But remember two things: being happy about choosing a healthier lifestyle is more important AND often times if a good week doesn't show up on the scale then the following week you'll see a big loss.

I can't resist cake from Safeway, either. ... and I've had the same kinds of weeks before. I think I'll see a big loss at the scale because I've been good all week, and then I've stayed the same or lost just a tiny bit.

But there could be reasons: Were you wearing heavier clothes? Did you drink a lot of water just before weigh-in? Were you retaining water because it's that TOM?

You're right: You can do this. Don't let that stupid old scale get you down!
