Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

I've been slacking on updating my blog the last two weeks. Work has been crazy, I had finals at school, and I took 2 days off of work around Memorial Day for a 5 day weekend. It was amazing to have all that time off!

Exercise:

Last Friday, the first day of vacation, my boyfriend, his friend, and I went biking on a state trail in southern Minnesota. It went through cute little towns and along a river and bluffs. I haven't been on a bike in probably 10 years so I was a little nervous at first. It turned out to be pretty fun. We biked almost 40 miles in about 6 hours. The 6 hours included a lunch break at a restaurant along the trail as well as about a million breaks because my butt hurt from the bike seat!

On Saturday we went camping with a few friends. We had planned to sleep in a cave (!) but ended up not because of the crazy amount of bugs in it. We found a clearning along the river with a fire pit that someone built. It was fun, minus the thunderstorm in the middle of the night.

I'm really enjoying the outside of the gym exercising. I would much rather spend a day biking or a few hours hiking to a campsite than running on a treadmill, etc. I do like the gym but it's nice to have variety.


Food:

Things on the food front aren't going too great. I've been eating whatever I want and most of it isn't healthy. I did make two weeks of meal plans so I'm going to start that tonight. I know that if I'm prepared I can do well. The next three weekends are busy with weddings and graduation parties. Lot's of tempting food I need to stay away from, especially cake!

I don't know what it is about exercising outdoors, but it makes me feel like I've accomplished something extra! Something about getting fresh air and some sun makes it a great change from that stale air in the gym. Good luck with your meal planning this week!
