Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Borrowing a page from Roni, here's something I really need to remember:

Quick & easy does not have to equal fast food.

Sure, I went to Subway, and had a ham and turkey sub. But had I gone home after my trip to Wal-Mart, I'm sure I could have whipped up something nearly as fast and equally as tasty. Plus, I'd have saved money.

Ah well. You live and learn. Now let's just hope I don't have to keep re-learning this particular lesson. :D

Speaking of lessons, I need to learn how to stop sleeping through my alarm. I didn't get up until after 11 this morning. Of course, I didn't get to bed until something like 3 a.m., so I guess that's just about the right amount of sleep, the 8 recommended hours ...

But I absolutely hate sleeping past 9. When I sleep so late, I feel like I don't have enough time to get anything done before work. I'd much rather go home after work, get to bed by 1:30 or 2 a.m. and get up by 8 or 9. Then I can have breakfast, get to the gym, work out and run any necessary errands before I have to be at work at 3 p.m. For some reason, getting up at 10 or 11 makes me feel like I don't have time to get to the gym, etc ... even though I probably really still could.

Wow what a schedule...I am in bed by 830 most nights...and up at 5!! When I sleep in it's usually only till about 630 because the dog will come up and do the riverdance in the bed wanting to go out for a walk...hubby puts her up to it!! When I want to change something I have to come up with a plan...and then go one small step at a time....maybe try to do the same with your schedule...and rewards always keep me motivated...Plan and reward for getting into the habit...that's my life in a nutshell these days.

I like my day to start early.. even on the weekend I follow the same schedule but sometimes I do go to bed later though.. and the Subway lunch is not bad.. yeah at home it could have saved ya some money but thats not too bad eating wise..

I use to work the 3-11 shift a long time ago, so i know what you mean. It's hard sometimes. I have no hints on the alarm, I've never heard one. My husband's goes off every morning, never wakes me up. I worked for a call center for years and would just put in a wake up call. the phone ringing makes me wide awake in like 2 seconds. I don't even hear the weather alert radio in our room when it goes off. living in a rural area that's really scary.

As far as eating out, sometimes it's just so much easier. At least it was a good choice. I tracked our expenses and we spent over $300 eating out last month. That's on top of our weekly $150 trips to the grocery store. Sad, but true.

That was a good choice at Subway, be proud of yourself that you chose that over something deep fried and greasy! Wow that schedule sounds rough and you are doing great getting up and getting workouts in. I know when I sleep in I feel the same way like there isn't enough time in the day. Sounds like you have a good balance, keep it up.
