Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Today has been great. I have been thinking about joining WW Online again for quite some time, and today I did it! I am excited, I love their tools and features on the website. When it came time to choose Flex plan or Core, I went Core. I have tried it before half-heartedly, but never really gave it a good shot. Since I like to eat the whole grains and lean meats, and I love fruit and vegetables, I decided I would do a one month trial of it. So here goes, I weighed in today at 169.2 (lost that 1lb gain from last week already) and I am going to see where I stand again in a month! I think I will have great success on it, becuase I know of alot of people who do really well on it. The biggest reason I think I need to do it is because Core foods are foods for life. They are the foods you eat when you are healthy AND thin. I could do Flex and eat white bread and still lose weight, but it is not going to be as good for my body as whole grains and vegetables. So here goes! I have a massive shopping list made, and I made myself a "core" shelf in the pantry like WW's site suggests! It was fun, now I have my own personal little shelf with brown rice, whole wheat pasta, canned tomatoes, and all the stuff I need so I can just dig around in my core foods for something to eat! I think I am going to end up making more "core" casserole type things and reheating them, which I am looking forward to. I made a "tamale pie" once about a year ago when I last tried Core and it was yummy, so I plan on making that as soon as I get the lean turkey meat. Right now the kids are all napping, and we are going to church tonight at 6 so I am relaxing now and looking forward to the rest of the day! :) Hope you all have a WONDERFUL weekend!

Good luck on Core! I've never tried it officially, but I also enjoy lean meats, whole grains, veggies and high fiber menus. There's so many great recipes out there, and don't be shy about adapting some of your favorites.

I liked Core when I tried it (the Shepherd's Pie recipe in the Kickstart book is yummy!) ... but after a few weeks it got to be a huge hassle. Too many non-Core foods started creeping in and the weight loss stalled, so I went back to Flex.

Congrats on the CORE switch, I am looking into it more and more. In a way with my ATKINS tweaking it does seem that I am doing CORE. I might just do CORE for 2 weeks and see how it goes, maybe we can go for it together and see what happens with the weight :) I do seem to like it more and more. I already eat the lean meats and veggies and I am must admit I looooove Grits :)

Yay! You sound so motivated!!! Having a shelf just for you sounds great, even if you're doing flex, as I am...I should give that a try. I like too many non core foods (a lot) to switch, but I love checking to see if what I am eating is core, cuz that means it is good for me to boot. Good luck, keep us posted on how it's going.
