You might remember how
disgusting I felt last time I went to see my in-laws. I used it as an opportunity to eat anything and everything that I wanted. Not only did I eat foods that are bad for me, but I ate a lot of them.
This time I decided that things were going to be different! So far, so good. It is my father-in-law's birthday, so of course there was cake and ice cream. I took about 3 bites of the cake and then slid the rest to DH before anyone else noticed and skipped on the ice cream altogether. Then later, everyone else was munching while playing board games and I opted to just get something to drink instead. Then today we headed out to a train auction. The only food in sight was being served from a trailer so you can imagine what it was--steak sandwiches, chili cheese fries, etc. I decided to just wait to eat and boy was I glad I did. We stopped at a great restuaruant on the way home that had a great healthy menu.
Just one more day to get through and then I will be back and home and in control. I must say that it feels good to conquer the "fear" of being out of my comfort zone and still be able to stay in control.
