Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

... Or maybe it's just because I slept through breakfast and went straight to lunch. But whatever the reason, I've eaten as much food as I want for the day and still have 2 Points leftover.

Is it OK to not eat them? I mean, I've gone over on other days, so maybe I'm just readjusting. As long as I don't make it a habit (I know you're supposed to eat all your Points, but why eat if I'm not hungry?), I guess it'll be OK.

And I really DON'T see myself consistently going under my Points. If anything, I'm usually one or two on the other side! :D

So the rest of my day looked like this:

A carrot cake muffin while I was waiting for the roommate to clear out of the kitchen so I could cook dinner. She came home and started cooking at just about the same time I was thinking about doing the same thing! (1 Point)

Roni's Chicken Surprise (1/3 of the recipe, for 7 Points). Yum!

A Lucerne (Safeway brand, I think) root beer float bar (Just 100 calories and 2 Points.) Double yum!

A 7-minute abs and 30-minute total body workout with The Bean DVD. (The roommate bought one of those things after seeing the infomercial. It sat in the box for months until I blew it up Sunday in a fit of boredom. It's not nearly as fun as the commercial makes it look, but it's not too bad. This is the first time I've tried the DVD workouts. I worked up a sweat, and I actually kind of like the pushups off the thing.)

1/2 cup of butter beans (2 Points), followed shortly by a diet Vanilla Coke float with 1/2 cup of Breyers Free vanilla ice cream.

All that, and I still have 2 Points to go ... and that's before I figure out how many APs I get for the walk and the Bean workout. I'm going to guess 3 ... and now I'll check the slider ... (pause) Actually, it's 5. Bonus!

Great job not going over your points! And double great job for 5 whole APs!
I *generally* have a point or two left over daily. Usually because I'm feeling satisfied and I know if I do use that one or two points, I will use them for something not-so-great. But now here's a question. DH gets 44 points a day...very rarely does he go to bed with less than about 7 points remaining. 44 points is a TON! Especially when I'm cooking meals for us that keep me within my 26 points. So does he need to force in these points every day, or stop when he's feeling satisfied? Oh boy, so much for me to learn!

No need to force points, unless you wind up under 18 (from the mouth of my leader). Eating a few less points is probably better for you than eating a few extra! If you consistently come in well below your points (like, eating 18 when you should be eating 30), you might start to have some ill-effects, but missing one or two doesn't hurt.

Great job with the workouts yesterday and for not going over on points. Its ok to have 1-2 pts left over at the end of the day, plus I would think that would help balance out the days when you go over. Keep up your hard work!

I'm the same way...if I'm not hungry...it's just a few points...it's not a big deal! Great job on the AP!!

I agree - if you're not hungry, why eat them? I had that kind of day yesterday and of course, I'm STARVING today! Lots of fruits & veggies for me!

I don't think that a few points will hurt. I do core and when I actually tracked what I was eating, I was about 10 pts less than what my dailies should be (still 26). I don't know if there is a calorie/point conversion but it seems like as long as you're getting a certain amount of calories you should be fine.

Sounds like a very good day for you! Congrats! And 5 AP's? WOW! I've got to figure out some kind of a balance with exercise for myself. And, I agree with the others. Tis better to go under by a few points than over!
