Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Todd

I feel like I'm at my WW meeting...

By that I mean that I am one of only two guys out of 30+ women, and I'm cool with that. I hope you all are too, I've always found it easier connecting with women than men. I'm a real mama's boy, actually Roni's video posts remind me alot of my mother and I in the kitchen (except we were making grilled cheese, fish sticks or chicken wings.)

I have a HUGE problem with stop and start, I did great on Sun, Mon and Tue, but now Humpday is here and I've had Three fist fulls of peanut M&M's. I lose focus very quickly and I convince myself that a slip up won't hurt, until I slip up 5 times in one hour. But I am down 25 lbs since a year ago and I'm still proud of myself, I'm turning off my mental goal of "where I want to be" and just focusing on week to week, month to month, losing something. I hope that works. . .

step away from the M and M's :-)
Seriously, life has slip ups. Simply a matter of fact.
If we were all perfect and followed plans perfectly, well none of us would be blogging about weight loss and struggles. We'd be blogging about rainbows, sunshine and puppies.

I have learned to accept that I'm going to fall off that wagon a few times a year. As long as I can run behind and jump back on, I'm good to go.

You've done amazing. 25lbs of freedom in a year. Just think how much better you feel physically, psychologically and emotionally from a year ago.

woo hoo you and welcome!

Hey Todd - You aren't the only guy here! My husband is here too - but just lurking! Argh! Anyway he is "DrDubious" - he used to go to the WW meetings too and was always the only guy there too. I'll let him know you are here too.

Hang in there and just keep "starting" again and again. Don't give up for the whole day just because of a handful of peanut M&Ms. Regroup and put that behind you. Focus on the now.

Hmm. We have a handful or so of guys in my Weight Watcher's meetings, but there's only one "single" guy... everyone else is there as part of a couple, including my own Darling Husband... he tends to get along better with women then men, tho. His best friend is a woman, and he's a really good listener, which is something people don't often say about guys ;-)

You know, you can get M&Ms in 100 calorie packs, if you're having a craving from time to time. I keep those and the Hershey sticks (60 cals each) in the house for chocolate cravings, and then I don't eat too many of them. I generally find I'm more reluctant to open a fresh package than I am to "take just a few more" from something that's larger and already open.

Oooh yeah. I love those Hershey sticks. The dark chocolate ones and the mint ones are both really good.

We only have a handful of guys at my meeting at a time, too (usually just one shows up).

Hey Todd - your story is very similar to my own. I started a group aimed at men. Take a look and pass it on to other guys that you might think are interested.
Cheers.

I've lost 25lbs over the last two years, I was going really good until I got married. I'm the same weight today as I was the day that I got married almost a year ago. But you know what I keep going and trying and I lose focus then I get back on. The point of this that you have to keep going and trying because 25lbs down this year is much better then 25lbs up. You will get to your goal, and when you do we'll all be here to celebrate with you.
