No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

In six days, I will be done with finals. I just have to keep telling myself that. I'm not doing too terribly right now, but I'm having massive stress-induced carb cravings. I ate a huge breakfast today. It was all healthy food, but I ate a lot, and now I am hungry again! It's been like that for the last few days...I've been forcing myself to take the time to make real, healthy meals, but I'm constantly eating, and I'm definitely taking in too many sweets and carbs.

When I am done with finals, I am going to go back on Phase I of South Beach for a week or two. The husband is even going to do it with me! He mostly eats what he wants, but he'll do Phase I with me every now and then if he wants to lose a few pounds. Last time we did it together, he lost almost 10 lbs in two weeks! Men have all the luck. Regardless, it's much easier to go through this when I have some company, so I'm happy he's coming along for the ride.

For the non-South Beachers reading this, Phase I means that I'm basically sticking to veggies, lean protein, beans, and healthy oils...no starchy foods or sugar and nothing with a significant amount of saturated fat. Alas, no fruit or bread either! This is the strictest phase of the plan. I could never keep it up for a long period of time, but it's a great way to kickstart weight loss and, more importantly, it utterly and completely kills carbohydrate cravings. After a few days, I just don't crave them anymore. And even though portions are only limited by your hunger, after a few days, my appetite always goes way down. I need that right now!

I'm getting really close to goal! I just need to focus and reprioritize a bit. I know I can do this.

Best of luck on your finals...I know that when they are over, you will have the energy to focus on yourself and that's a good thing.
