TiVo for weight loss?

One of the hardest things about trying to be a normal eater is the number of weight loss ads on tv and in magazines. I can't get through one episode of law and order without someone telling me how eating Special K will help me achieve my weight loss goals.

Here I am trying to relax by watching tv, minding my own business, and I am inundated with weight loss ads which leads to anxiety over my weight. I am trying to be okay with where I am and that's hard enough to do without the constant reminder that I am not where I want to be.

I think TiVo or the DVR is the answer. It will help me in many ways including preventing me from having to watch bad tv when nothing else is on. This will be on my honeydo list for the week. Every little bit helps!

Also, I took inspiration from roni and updated my blog's look. Even though it threw me off when she changed websites, I can understand why she did. Change can be invigorating!

We have Netflix and a Blockbuster pass. We watch a lot of shows on dvd or online. This saves us from commercial overload. I really enjoy it.

Another thing you could do is make commercial time a time for exercise. Hit the mute button and do a few quick exercises.

Good luck.

I agree the TV can be a multi-pronged trap. Between the weight loss and the food ads (like DQ...those ads cause a pavlovian reflex) it is enough to drive any person insane.
You will reach your goals and you will stay at them because you are laying a great groundwork of normal eating...keep the faith!
