Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Ok so my trainer wants me to cut out bread, pasta, rice for the first 2 weeks and then after that I'm not allowed to eat them after lunch. I am having one hell of a time following this. By 10-11am I am shoving everything else in my mouth in replacement of my cravings for carbs. I have failed miserably today as it's only 11:42 and already I have eaten 1/2c. fiber one, a yogurt cup, some grapes, quacamole/salsa with multigrain chips, slice of ww bread with roastbeef/gravy on top, and I just ate one slice of ww bread with jelly!!!!

I NEED some help on how to get control of these cravings. And no offense ...but I don't need a little pep rally telling me "be strong" because well...I don't know how and that's why I'm asking for help.

I'm also not suppose to eat after 7pm and while I'm not a huge late night snacker...that is darn early!

So let me hear it...what do you do to curb those cravings???

I replace the starchy carbs with veggies, as many as it takes, and fruit of course too. I up the amount of protein I'm getting, and watch for hidden sugars in any dressings or whatever I might want to use.
The 7pm IS early, I usually don't eat after 8, but I guess the same principle applies... water, walks, tea works REALLY well as an appetite killer, especially green tea. Do whatever it takes to keep you busy until bedtime. After you've detoxed for a couple of days the cravings won't be nearly as strong, but I know this stage is icky. Good luck!

Yes, starchy carbs! Use any variety of squash, you can cut them up like french fries and they're still a veggie! Or beans, like kidney beans, etc. There's a great recipe somewhere for crunchy garbanzo beans that could help with that. Also, NUTS! Nuts are crunchy and can be a bit salty, too, and they're protein! Buy fruit "chips" like apple chips or banana chips for the sweet and crunchy option. For a little spice, maybe something like wasabi peas.

Avoid those refined sugars! Find an apple juice that is all natural, they tend to be really sweet without the added sugar. Also HONEY is awesome as a sweetner with no carbs! Honey with apples is tremendously yummy!

Hope this helps!

I think that is the problem...I need to up my protein but I need to look into what some good options are. Saucywench those are some great suggestions as well...I can't have nuts at work so I never think to buy them for at home or on the go. And apples with honey sounds delicious...I'm definately going to be trying that and I LOVE LOVE LOVE squash....while all my classmates were saying pizza was their favorite as a child I was the weird one saying squash. lol. Just gotta learn ways to make it thats all.

I hear you girl... I am such a pasta & bread girl. I can honestly tell you I was unable to completey stop eating it But I would try if you must have it ...try a weight watchers bread (expensive here in PA) or smart ones pasta. But I only allowed my self to have it 2 times a week. I know this does not solve it. But only other way is to kick it cold turkey.

Not eating after 7 is not so hard after you do it the first few days... I have done that and I actually started doing that again yesterday. I do make sure to get a light snack or eat right before than so I am not so hungry. But after a few days you will not even think about it..... And I drink nothing but water after that time. Sorry I was not much help... But I did not give you a Rah Rah speech...jut the truth!

Let me know if you need anything...cause I to NEED HELP!
