Sprinting...Running...jogging....powerwalking.......stopping!

So the other day I went jogging with my boyfriend. Before I left my house I made sure I was all prepared (wearing two sports bras.. Does anyone else have to do that???) with water bottle in hand since it was a million degrees outside. I was so confident in myself because I've been going to the gym a lot! I run on the elliptical because, truthfully, 1) the treadmill hurts my boobs when i run, and 2) I'm afraid my foot is going to land off the the side and I'm going to go flying across the gym and I'll never be able to go back again. So I stay with the elliptical. I usually run for half an hour at like 7.7(whatever that means. Its fast.) and I go about 3 miles every time. So I'm driving to my boyfriends house and I'm like "oh yeah. I can run 3 miles on the elliptical, jogging on the MA & PA trail shouldn't be a problem!"
We get to the trail and start jogging. I was doing great at first!! I was so proud. Then I couldn't breath. It was awful. My lungs hurt so bad. I just couldn't understand it! So my poor boyfriend slows down and walks with me and I was so embarrassed! So he told me that sprints would be better. So we would walk and then sprint as fast as we could until I started to hyperventilate. Then he would let me catch my breath. He's a good coach because he kept pushing me to push myself. But it still sucked.

So I have decided that instead of driving to the gym (which is five minutes away from my house) and "running" on the elliptical, I'm going to jog to the gym and do my circuit instead. GOOD PLAN!

OK a BIG LOL to number 2 because I sometimes worry about that too! I've decided to deal with it though because I am so determined to become a runner and it's just WAY too hot in TX to be a novice and attempt running, so the treadmill it must be! lol...but congratulations to you for not giving up. How nice to have such a supportive and understanding boyfriend! Best of luck to you with your new plan for the gym, it sounds like a great one!

Don't be discouraged....running at the gym and running outside are totally different! I feel for you as I run with my fiance and he always kicks my behind....he is never winded! So frustrating! Good luck with your plan....it sounds good!
