C25Kers on BtL?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone else here is making their way through -- or has graduated from! -- the Couch to 5K program. For those who aren't yet familiar with this awesome way to get into running (... or get BACK into running ...) check it out here: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml

If you're interested in hearing a music podcast that prompts you when to speed up and when to slow down, you can find one (of several!) here: http://www.ullreys.com/robert/Podcasts/page4/page4.html

I'm personally almost through Week 4 -- and much to my surprise, the program is entirely do-able, even for someone who has NEVER been a runner, and who's a generous 45 lbs away from her goalweight. Leave a post if you're interested in being part of a C25K group to keep one another accountable, share tips and just whine or brag about our runs :)

Almost through Week 4--way to go! I'm still on week 1, but I'll get there someday. It seems that there are tons of people around doing C25k and I love to hear about people at all different stages. I've enjoyed the group created exactly for this purpose. Come on over and join us there!

I'm thinking about doing this. I have been doing some jogging here lately and would love to be able to get up to doing a 5k. I only can jog about a mile right now before I get too tired. The hubby wants me to go jogging with him but he can jog a half-marathon with no problem. I need to get WAY better before I try going with him. :P

I started the program this past Sunday, and am LOVING it!! I have finished week 1 of training, and am starting week 2 on Sunday. I train on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursdays. I've also downloaded the podcasts from ullreys and find them VERY helpful. I like having someone tell me when to run and when to walk...takes all the thinking out of it.
I am looking forward to starting week 2.

I am going to run a 5K next spring with a friend. Believe me, I need that whole time to train. I'm friggin' huge!

I don't think I can do a full minute jogging quite yet. I'm thinking of abbreviating the plan to start a bit slowly...maybe stretch the thing out to 15 weeks or something.

Library Girl, you are a wonderful person for sharing the podcasts for this! I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself, because I was actually going to go through all the mess of trying to build my own playlists for it! You have saved me a huge amount of work! THANKS!!

C25K is such a great program. I went through it a couple years ago and ran a 5K and am currently going through it a second time (I haven't ran in a while). There's already a C25K group going on here; you can find it by clicking on Groups up at the top of the page.

I just started the C25K program. I am still working through week 1. I just found the podcasts, so I was pretty excited about it! I would love to join this just for some additional input and support!

I did this two summers ago after having my DD and was so impressed with myself. I couldn't believe how doable it was. I would love to be part of the group, but being compeltely honest I have no idea how to navigate the site. Just joined today.
