We are home again, safe and sound. An awful lot of driving for a weekend, but the concert was amazing....and my son is happily in ND with his cousins! I did go to WI on Friday and as expected it wasn't good. I was up 3.6 lbs...so I best get my butt in gear this week. Need to sign off...desperately need a nap! Here's a couple pictures of Rob Thomas! My daughter and niece were in the front row so got some AWESOME pics!

on the road again...

.....I just can't wait to get on the road again... Anybody know that old Willie Nelson song? (or at least I think its him?) So we are taking Chad to North Dakota this weekend. He usually spends 2-3 weeks there every summer with his grandparents and cousins. Jordan was able to find a sub to work for her on Sat/Sun so we are off and running! Although its going to be an awful quick trip. We are leaving Friday after Jay gets home from work....driving 525 miles to Minot, ND. (We will probably get th… Continue

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I fully intended on getting up at 5:00 a.m. today and getting a 3 mile walk in....as I don't think I'll have time tonight as my son has a baseball game. But, I was WAY too sleepy to haul my butt out of bed!! If my hubby gets home early enough from work, I'll have them drive to the game and I'll just meet them there by walking to the ball park. But if he doesn't, then I'll have to drive Chad. We're heading for a "scorcher" today in Minnesota. The high is to be around 94 today! Well...off to wor… Continue

Back to reality

Well...after a full week of mindless eating, drinking and sitting on my A$$....I am home safe and sound! We had a great time at Moondance (as expected). We saw some great concerts, ate wonderful food (it always tastes so much better outside/camping!!) and re-connected with friends from 500 miles away! It's the one time a year a bunch of us get together, and it's so funny, but when we get there, it seems like we've never been away from each other. We just pick up where we left off! I did venture… Continue

Sounds like fun. :) If I run into anyone named "Darrel" while I'm in town I'll ask if they were at the Moondance Jam! :) Hope your drive goes well this weekend! Have a great day.

I LOVE Gavin DeGraw!!! I saw him like 3 years ago in concert and just, he won me over. Such a sweet heart with great music and good lyrics! My mom is actually coming in town that weekend for a girl's weekend but otherwise I'd totally go down to Houston to see him again. I visit Houston, probably once a month but like two weeks ago I had gone 3 times in 3 weeks (concerts, dr. appts, stuff like that) and gas is NOT cheap so yeah, I decided to take a quick break. Thanks for letting me know though!!!

Hi Robyn!! It's very nice to meet you.
Way to go on starting the C25K program!! I was on a mini vacation for the past 5 days, but made myself start the program. I was at home or at the lake during my days off, so it was a bit easier than being on a real vacation.
Enjoy your vacation, and get back in the program when you are back home. :)

Hey there, :) Thanks for your note. I've been meaning to blog but cant seem to think of anything to say!!!! :( (imagine that!) haha. BUT, I did want to tell you that I love your new do! :) The color and cut is so cute on you and you look wonderful too btw! :) You must be feeling great with all your weight loss and working out! :) I've been in a bit of a bingy funk lately so need to kick myself in the butt and start really tracking my pts carefully! I am excited that my HUSBAND finally has started showing some interest in getting into shape (he joined the gym with my son) so I better keep on setting a good example for him! :) (now watch ME backslide into my old FAT self, that'd be a bummer!) SEE, I actually can write when I'm talking to someone specific! :) It's the blogging to "whoever" that throws me off! :0 haha. Hey, well I hope you have a great day. Thanks again for your notes. It's so nice to hear from you. Take Care.

A cyber auntie, huh?! How fun, of course you can be! Logan was born in Sept and the summer was not fun, so this will be different. It will be out last though and I need some new clothes for the colder months which is a bummer, but I like shopping for them so I don't mind! Thanks for the congrats, we are pretty excited! Have a good 4th!

About Me:

Photobucket Hi! My name is Robyn and I am 43 years old. I am married (almost 19 years) and have two beautiful kids! A 16 year old daughter and a 14 year old son!

I've battled my weight all of my life and have made a decision that THIS is the year that all changes. Mostly because I want to be HEALTHY! In August of 2007 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and underwent a unilateral mastectomy of my left breast. I also had reconstruction surgery at the same time. I am happy to report that I am hereby cancer-free!

I had a TRAM free-flap procedure where my Doctor created my new breast out of my tummy tissue! Believe me, he had plenty of that work with! The added benefit of a tummy tuck was nice...but now its time to get the REST of my body into shape.

I haven't decided yet...but I may join Weight Watchers...even though I know how the plan works and could probably do it on my own. I think the added benefit of a support group is a key factor!
(UPDATE: Joined WW on Feb. 15th, 2008.)

I've never been a "small" girl! In fact, I think I when I was younger I went from 99 to 160 lbs. overnight? lol I don't remember ever weighing less than 160 even when I was in high school!

As far as diets go.....you name it, I've done it. I've been a Weight Watcher member at least 4 times. I've tried Atkins, Nutrisystem, Slimfast...etc. I also did Phen Phen back in the early 90's for about 3-4 months. I lost 34 lbs (down to 157) and was completely happy at that weight. I also maintained it for almost 3 years. Then when I switched to a desk job...the weight slowly crept back on. Now..after years and years of yo-yo dieting I've reached my all-time high! A couple weeks ago I was at 203.5....but this morning I weighed in at 198.

This picture below was taken in April of 2005...when I was probably at my lowest in many years! (173 lbs.) At the time I thought I was WAY fat...but looking back now, I really wasn't that bad! Look how much thinner my cheeks are! Sheesh!
