About Me:
I'm 27 years old and a stay-at-home mom. I've been married to my best friend for almost 11 years. We have 2 boys and 2 girls with ages ranging from 4 to 10. I started this journey long ago, and I've lost 30 pounds and kept it off for over a year. Knowing how far I had come made me more comfortable with myself and I felt great for all that time. I just re-joined WW (June 20, 2008) after resolving to get under 150 this time. I know I'm healthier than I have ever been, but I'm just simply not where I want to be. I have set my ultimate goal at 125 and I'm going to make it all the way this time!

A soup day...and it's still summer

Today was another easy day. I didn't plan on really blogging again until Monday, but here I sit :~P . I had my normal coffee and oatmeal. I usually do oatmeal every other day, but tomorrow we are having breakfast at church. Today's lunch was a wrap (1 point non-flex). Dinner is the reason that I'm blogging though. I made "Zero POINTS® Value-Vegetable Soup" from the WW site. The only thing I left out was the Swiss chard. I added a little more broccoli and cauliflower though. It is YUMMY and eve… Continue

1st day of CORE

It's not over yet, I know, but I doubt I'll be blogging again until Monday. It's a busy weekend for me! Today, with CORE, was like a normal day.....a year ago. One of those days I was comfortable in my own skin and felt good about what I was putting into my body. I did go eat lunch with my oldest son today, so I packed a lunch. This is what my day was like (so far): 0700 - 2 cups of coffee 0900 - oatmeal 1000 - 33 oz. water 1100 - veggie sub (4 pts. ~ non-core) 1100 - some 94% FF popcorn (few… Continue

-1.2 this week, Running Update, and Plan Update

I'm down 1.2 this week and now I'm sooooo close to my next mini-goal (actually there are 2 mini-goals that I have that are both at 145, and another one at 144)!!! I haven't updated on C25K in a while. That's because I quit doing it last Friday after the 20 minute run. Well...I didn't JUST quit...I just started running 30 minute runs. My reasons for starting the C25K were because I hadn't worked out intensely since law enforcement training and I didn't want to start out too fast and injure mysel… Continue

Accomplishments, with a minor setback

I weighed 148 this morning, which puts me up 0.8 this week. It's okay though. My eating really has been uncontrolled. It's always the week before AF that gets me anyway...and that would be this week. I expected to be up, and I can take it.............. Especially since I'm "officially" down to a SIZE 6 in jeans!!! Now I've been fitting into a size 6 for a while, but I say officially because now they are "comfortabe"...which by my standards would be putting them on fresh out of the dryer!… Continue

I ate TERRIBLY

Friday and Saturday I ate SO much. Friday we did a lot of walking, and I tried to make decent choices. However...you know, sometimes, you make a choice and don't realize that it could be THAT bad until you get home to figure it out. I'm still not sure exactly how many points I had, but I know it was serious. Yesterday was just one of those stressful days that I didn't say 'Ok, you are stressed. No excuses for eating too much.' I just ate...WAY too much. So, here I am. I'm 'writing' it down. I… Continue

Thanks for the awesome comment and support, I really appreciate it!

I'm relieved to hear that I'm not alone in the Depo experience. I've used it and loved it for years, but this time when I went back on it was totally different. 20 lbs in the first three months, I'm working out like crazy and watching what I eat and NOTHING is happening. It HAS to be the stupid shot.

Did you find it easier to lose when you went off of it?

Wow! Thank you so much! You cannot know how touched I am that you told me that I inspired you and others. That is just so exciting for me and feels so good. I get so much from this blog so it is nice to give back. Thank you so much for creating a discussion around the subject. AWESOME! Now let's do this! We are so worth it.

That sounds awesome! I think it is going to feel so liberating and free up some physical and mental "energy" in other areas of your life. Have fun!

Thanks for checking up. I have been AWOL and in quite a funk since the weekend. I think it's TOM's fault. The much cooler fall weather has really slowed me down. I am hoping we get a little Indian summer before it freezes and the snow comes. How are you?? Are you safe from Hanna and the "triple threat"?

HAHA!! You are so funny...mad?? Nah...not at all. I'm actually really impressed you skipped on up to the whole run. Actually, I figure that I'm pretty much done for after tonight, because from here on in, they're all 25+ minutes anyhow. My two 10 minute runs went extremely well, so I'm okay with it.

Before long, your lbs. are going to just drip right off that bod of yours! Keep on runnin', AND checking in!

Hey There! Thanks for commenting so quickly this morning! It was really nice to hear from someone "I know" while being away from everyone I love.

I am having fun, even though I feel a little guilty about being down here without everyone...but I am being well taken care of...

I will check in when I can. I hope you are having a good week as well!

OMGsh!! Do you know what kind of angel I think you are! I was beginning to doubt myself with everyone asking if I was snacking more or eating to compensate for the smoking. I didn't feel like I was, but why else would I gain 10 lbs in 3 weeks? To know that it's "normal" to gain 5 to 10 lbs the first month, makes me feel at ease. I now feel like once my body "calms down" I should be able to see a decrease in the scale again. Hopefully pretty quickly :) Thanks again!!

Yes...I noticed that the other day. I was trying to forget! lol

Actually, I'm hoping that once I get into the habit of running non-stop it will feel like the "norm" for me, and the thought of intervals will seem wimpy. At least that's what I'm hoping...

In a way, it does seem much simpler, in a mindless kind of way. Just turn on the iPod, go out and run. Makes the whole workout less complicated. From now on, it's early morning or late in the day for me! ; )

Oh...and my new shoes are AMAZING! I can't wait to try them out Sunday evening. They are seamless, so I can even wear them barefoot!
