About Me:
I'm a Weight Watcher lifetime member trying to maintain my weight. I first joined Blog to Lose when I gained some extra 15 pounds last year during my first year of teaching. My hard work and support paid off and I lost the 15 pounds! This year I'm faced with more stress and yet another new town to live in. My goal is to maintain my weight this year by eating healthy, trying to fit in some form of exercise in my busy schedule, and keeping a positive attitude!
Plan of Choice:

Seeking advice for how to deal with the cupboards of temptation...

Strange, I have never been a person to be "not hungry" for any reason whatsoever - sickness, nervousness, etc. On all such occasions I always have room for food. However, these past few days I have not been hungry and nothing appears very appetizing. I think that I must be coming down with a virus or something because even when I make myself eat at meal time, nothing really tastes good either. Very odd..... I got my first "You've lost some weight" comment yesterday! I hadn't seen a friend of mi… Continue

Packing!

Phewf! Busy times trying to pack up and sort through this apartment. With no food in the house, my breakfast and lunch both consisted of cherrios and fruit!! It will be nice to finish this move and get back to my parents' house next week. Part of me is a bit worried about returning home, another part knows that there are some perks with being at home on weight watchers. I'm worried because my parents always have the kitchen FULLY STOCKED with all of the snacks and treats that you can imagine! Th… Continue

Back from Vacation!

I'm back!! After a three week vacation, involving sporadic and unplanned eating schedules, I'm back home to normality. I really was not sure what to expect when I stepped on the scale this morning. I was walking a lot during these last three weeks, but I was also eating a lot of things that I don't normally (i.e. peanuts and crackers for dinner when we were on the road with no restaurants available). I am happy to say that I lost 2 lbs!! With all things considering, I was quite pleased with my… Continue

I'm back...........but will be MIA again soon!

First off, thanks A MILLION to those people who left positive and encouraging messages on my board the last time I posted. I was feeling really frustrated with myself and disappointed that I had slipped, but reading those messages reminded me that I just have to forget the past and focus on the future. These past two weeks have been really busy at school, and I wasn't expecting this last week to be equally as busy as the week before! Lot of people are leaving the school (including my partner an… Continue

Feeling disappointed with myself

Alright, feeling a bit down on myself. Yesterday afternoon I was a bit bad. I had a good breakfast (egg whites with veggies and toast) and lunch (chicken and veggie sandwich) but then when I got home from work I was hungry and without good food choices available. I had two squares of chocolate (which were good, I enjoyed every minute of them), about 1/2 cup of cereal, and 12 almonds (about 8 points maybe?) I suppose it was alright because I went out for dinner and ate practically nothing (didn't… Continue

Thanks! I noticed you're also a teacher (I start my first year in August!). Any tips on how to stay on track and keep up with the stresses of teaching would be great. As for exercise, I switch up cardio and strength training every other day and I also swim some days. Any other ideas on switching it up?

Thank you for the great suggestion. I would do eggs alot more but I don't have the time in the morning to cook them (ofcourse, an excuse, I could get up earlier!). I guess what I am going for is something easy because I leave for work shortly after I get up. Oatmeal seems to help.

When I tried the dress on, I thought it was $14 ... and I was thinking "at that price, I'm not sure it fits well enough." Then I looked more closely at the tag and saw it was half off and decided to go for it!

Hey thanks for the comment, and the trip went really well. I did indulge a tiny bit, but didnt let it take over the vacation. I will blog about it here in a bit. Thanx for your input!

Hi Roxi - thanks for the comment! Wow - you managed to live in one of the coldest NZ cities - and one of the sunniest! I also see that you're a teacher too! Do you also hate those morning teas people put on in the staff room...they are sooo good and sooo bad.

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself! My name is Jessica and I actually have a Q for you. So it says your a lifetime weight watcher, can i ask you.. what is it about going to the meetings that keep you motivated? or is that what made you motivated? Does WW help with the motivation to keep being active and to stay healthy?

I have thought about changing things up a bit, but haven't really gotten motivated to do that. The numbers have been fairly nice to me, so I cannot complain. I definitely will look to vary things up a bit in the near future though.
