Camp

I was a cook at a Christian camp my daughter went to this past week, and I had lots of fun. The lady who puts on the camp is a friend, and she has a beautiful house which she opens up for this camp and for Christian retreats and in August she will have an arts camp, and the great part about it, is it is less than 20 miles from my home. Out of town

Here I am, it has been a little over a week since I posted last. We went out of town this weekend for our nephews graduation, and stayed with my mother-in-law. She likes to feed us, and she doesn't cook anything healthy. For lunch on Friday when we got there she had sandwiches, I could have eaten one without the mayo and cheese, and without chips, but I have no will power. First Day on WW

Today was my first day and I failed miserably. I went to Dallas for the day, it is a little less than a two hours drive from us. We had dentist appointments, and we try to do all our main shopping while we are there. Well I started off good by eating oatmeal, and I drank two glasses of water before I left. First time to blog.

Cindy, I always plan my meals out for the week. But normally just dinner, which leaves me scrounging for lunch and not making healthy choices when I have 3 kids screaming they're hungry and having to fix different foods for eveyone. I plan everything but my snacks now, and i try to just keep a bunch of healthy stuff on hand and that way I can kinda go with my cravings. My husband wants to lose weight too, so he's totally supportive about the healthy dinners, but won't think twice about eating chips and hot sauce for a snack, right in front of me I might add. Oh well, if his snack looks better than mine i let myself have one bite and then just let it go. :) One day at a time, one bite at a time, that's all we can do.

Cindy, I'm always looking for more friends and support. This journey is just too hard to do it alone. Sounds like you do have a very busy schedule, the best advice I can give you, this comes from my experience just tonight, plan ahead. If you don't have the meals and the snacks planned out, you are so much more likely to just grab whatever is fast and easy, which is usually not the healthy choice. :)

I'm new to blogging too. Was thinking about joining WW online, with three kids under 6, just can't find time to go to a meeting, but to be honest - i think eveyone knows what they should or should not be eating if they want to get healthy. What I'm really looking for is friendship and support along the way. Saw your blog and got excited to see another small town TX girl and well, kind of hoped maybe we could support each other.

Welcome to the blog. I'm doing the WW meetings and it's working. It's so exciting to be successful and know that it's a lifestyle. I've yo yo'd a lot in the past on fad diets. I think that low fat, low calorie is the only way to go. Just keep in mind...One Day at a Time...
