About Me:
I am a 25 year old food lover and highschool teacher from Vancouver, BC, Canada. Growing up, my parents owned a Chinese Food restaurant and instead of getting a babysitter, I was looked after at the restaurant when I wasn't in school. I really attribute this kind of upbringing to my weight issues since the early years of my life. Always chubby, and oldest of four I am the only one who is overweight. I think for the longest time I just blamed it on being "big boned" but what does that realy mean? It's time to stop making excuses for myself and start DOING something about it.

I am 5'2" and 146lbs. Goal: 130lbs.
Goal date: September 13 (this would mean average 2lbs per week)

I joined Blog to Lose in hopes of connecting with others who are on the same journey to share stories, vent, bitch, and support one another to finally win this battle. Please leave comments and read my blogs as it helps me keep up with blogging to lose!
Plan of Choice:
Low Fat, High Fiber

Workout Philiosophy:
I stay active doing everyday activities, I'm a walk-a-holic, I love lifting weights

all i have to give

this week has been an INCREDIBLE week of nostalgia as i got to experience what it was like to be 15 again... i am a HUGE backstreet boy's fan and one of the main reasons why i cut my stay in Israel short was because the Boys were going to be playing in Vancouver on Sept. 4th... (yesterday) so all this week i've been preparing for the time of my life since i scored FRONT ROW tickets through fan club!!!!!!! i also went to see them in Calgary earlier this week by going to their soundcheck and then… Continue

bleh - still not back on track yet

maybe it's because i need a vacation from a vacation? i am still not back on track and feel awful cause i haven't done any physical activity except walk my dog 3 times a day... i guess that does sort of count for something... but i also haven't set a regular eating routine nor am i drinking lots of water. i think i'm experiencing a low point of this rollercoaster experience that i've been on... when i first signed up with BTL i was really excited, enthused, feeling inspired.. right now i can't… Continue

i haven't lost any weight

arrrggh. i am feeling really frustrated and "blah" today... i started the day with the intention of getting back on plan since i'm finally over the jet lag and stomach upset since my arrival last Thursday. instead, i've only really been good with being active... i walked my dog Phoebe (beautiful golden retriever) twice for a total of almost an hour today. eating has been good. i had a chicken breast sandwich with lotsa veggies on rye with a blended lemonade from starbucks to drink. tonight is go… Continue

I was THRILLED and now probably look like a blueberry.. hehee.. I'm so jealous! They're building a new Costco here (that opens today, now that I think about it!) and I would seriously consider joining simply for a case of Larabars. Yum.

They'd be great for breakfast, but I'd have a piece of fruit or something else too. They're all around 190-200 calories, so you'd need a little more in the morning. I love them in the midafternoon because that's usually when I hit my "wall" and they have so much protein they pick me right up!

Well maintaining is certainly better than gaining girlie, just remember that! I'm sure that once your body and mind adjust to the new location (awww home) and new schedule, things will begin to go down again. Just don't give up or give into the frustration!!!

Hey! If you're into protein bars for snacks I found a new favorite: peanut butter cookie larabar. Basically any larabar is amazing in my humble opinion, but this one seriously tastes like a cookie! They're higher calorie (about 210) than some bars, but the ingredients list is great- peanuts, dates and one other minor ingreident that's slipping my mind. So it's pure protein and tastes great!

I'm familiar with the honeymoon phase in teaching. I had that my first year of teaching and then they proceeded to being demons. My second year was training phase right from the beginning. Once I got them trained, they were wonderful. I'm thinking and hoping that since the kids know that this is my second year at my school that I'm not going to let them get away with things. Luckily I think enough of my kids said I was "mean" to give my new kids the idea that I don't put up with much. Of course, I'm not mean, but I do have expectations which are currently and quite oddly all being met without my having to do a whole lot!

I've picked up several pedometers ... this latest one is a $4 one from Walgreen's, and it seems to be working better than some of the more expensive ones I've purchased.

My WW leader has a really pricey one that you can plug into your computer to upload data ... but I don't need anything that fancy. Mine just counts steps. Period. But it helps keep me moving, and that's what I wanted it to do.

You are SO sweet!!! Thank you for your comment, it put a smile on my face. It also helps to know the others can understand my decision. We tried to compromise a million times over but there is really none to be found that either one of us can be happy with. So what else can you do? We are going to try to be friends but this is proving to be difficult too. How are you friends with someone you are in love with? It's like we keep running into the same problems in our friendship even. It's really upsetting. But enough about that, thank you again for your comment!!!
